Mickey 17 2025
A funnier, goofier version of Snowpiercer, which shares a lot of similar themes (class struggle, limited resource allocation). What works works exceptionally well (Robert Pattinson, in particular), while what doesn’t work isn’t enough to detract too much from the movie. Enjoyable, but not anywhere near the masterpiece that Parasite was.

Saturday Night 2024
Exceptionally cast, Saturday Night feels a bit of maybe a lot like an episode of the show whose birth it is portraying. It’s frenzied, the writing quality is extremely varied, and everything seems just a bit heightened. Some of it works (the decision to film on 16mm), some of it less so (Alan Zweibel being hired 30 minutes before the show, almost everything with the network censor). There are guest stars (J. K. Simmons! Matthew Rhys! Brad Garrett!), all of whom…
