  The morning after watching this I just could not get it out of my head. It's a movie that grabs you, takes you into it's open arms, then promptly chews you up and spits you out. Bong leaves no stone unturned, yet no stone out of place (and those are some very hard stones, mind you). It ripped into my very soul.

  5 young people go out into the woods and nothing of notable interest takes place. It's impact in the horror genre is obvious. Also, when I was a kid, I thought the necronomicon was real, even though I only ever heard about it through movie references in other media. Somewhere, though, in my heart, that has been engrained as fact, and watching this the book itself felt no different - ancient, legendary, and enticingly horrific. The demons are great, Ash is great, the atmosphere is great, it's easy to see why this one is a cult classic.
