This film will probably stick with me for the rest of my life. The ambiguity of the ending is perhaps the most brilliant part. It’s why I can’t shake the unsettling feeling. The possibly permanent hypnosis.

Boyhood 2014
Huh?? I’m not sure why I never logged/rated this. Watched it a while back, anywho, I found the first half of this film extraordinary, and while I endlessly appreciate linklater’s vision and effort, I feel like the latter half of the film loses momentum quite a bit. Even so, how momentous and novel to capture narrative film in this way.

Past Lives 2023
Absolutely beautiful, precise, grounded, human, and most of all heartbreaking. Sometimes film makes you ponder. Sometimes film visually captivates you. Sometimes it makes you emotional. It’s an achievement if a film accomplishes any of that. This film does all the above.
