  Guess I'm in the vast minority on this one, but I thought the only aspect of this movie that was actually good and worth my time was the soundtrack. I simply did not understand what this movie was doing, or what it was trying to say. It all just seemed incredibly thin and surface level. Besides this, I found each and every one of the characters very irritating indeed. Shame, because I do generally like Guadagnino's stuff.

  Von Trier's excellent mish-mash of horror, drama and comedy is a very fine body of work. Sort of like a cross between Twin Peaks and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, there are some unforgettable moments and characters, particularly Stig Helmer who is laugh out loud funny just by having many 'pissed-off' facial expressions.

  Offensively abysmal live-action adaptation of one of the finest mangas ever made. Why did they bother? Why the hell bother if you're gonna suck all the life, pathos and venom out of this tragic tale? Everything about it sucks.

  Watch the OVAs instead to get the correct Devilman experience, because they are awesome.
