Novocaine 2025
Zoo wee mama that was a good time. Nothing new but really well done. The whole theater was laughing and cringing constantly. Decided to go on a whim cause I wanted to get out of the dorm and I’m glad I did. I’d genuinely recommend as a very good action comedy. A great time despite the predictable writing. The fun concept, enjoyable protagonist, and obviously the over the top action scenes make it well worth a watch or two.
And there was a Daft Punk reference. That’s all a movie needs to be good in my book.

The viiiiiiiibes. Seriously how did they make this so gorgeous. The animation is so fluid and the visuals are so detailed but have a distinct look to them. The nighttime shots were especially great with all of their haze and red lighting. Not sure how I feel about the main character’s actions but the writing’s all-around stellar. I love how down to earth the writing is, making it feel so mundane but never boring and paving the way for great surprises in the visuals and story. All around a rock solid time.

The Muppets 2011
I have the utmost respect for this movie. Ultimate bad day cure. I don’t know how a human could watch this and not grin ear to ear the entire time. It’s just so damn jubilant. The songs are reallllly good too and sell the whole thing. The opening number, man or muppet, and rainbow connection are all such classics and elevate the whole thing. I can totally see why Segel says this is the thing he’s most proud of. It’s tremendous.
