This film is lightning in a bottle. You would think a movie so diffuse as this one, with so many different stories going on would make for an impossible watch. But it's impeccably balanced. Upon my second time watching La Cienaga, I almost felt like I was a part of the family... brought into the most intimate of perspectives and the most messiest of circumstances.

Top 20 movies of all time for me. Maybe Top 10?? We'll see if I ever take the time to make a definitive list.

I love how the "cure for all disease" is just a giant gold sponge. As if they're saying the cure for disease is just good hygiene. And is it weird that I felt emotional when the astronauts left Godzilla and Rodan behind on Planet X?

Overall, it's was a lot of good fun. It drags from time to time when there's a lack of dialogue or music. But certainly not the worst Kaiju movie I've ever seen.

Update: Still thinking about this one. My only experience to Wim Wenders prior to Paris, Texas was his most recent film, Perfect Days, which I also adored.
Paris, Texas starts off like a dream. Following a mute man, Travis, as he traverses beautiful sweeping landscapes of Texas. And after he is discovered by his brother and he speaks up about running from his…
