By no means as bad as it's reputation suggests, it's definitely a step down from the 1972 original film. Still, it does offer enough passable thrills for rainy Sunday afternoon viewing. I don't know, this movie just didn't land for me. The pacing was beyond leisurely, I didn't really feel invested in any of the characters, but the cinematography was gorgeous so there was that at least. Normally, I really like baseball movies so this was a bit of a disappointment.
This movie is just so much fun, with a miniaturized Dennis Quaid stuck inside a neurotic Martin Short. Comedic sci-fi shenanigans ensue. Meg Ryan is great as Quaid's journalist girlfriend who has to help Martin Short retrieve a stolen microchip so that when they get Quaid (and the miniaturized ship Quaid is inhabiting) out of Short's body they can return him to normal size and they have to do it before Quaid runs out of oxygen too.
