  This is a long an expensive Toshiro Mifune movie that mostly works. It doesn't a chieve what RAN would later acheive. I fell asleep in the middle of this 2hr46m film and had only bare minimum idea of the plot. Still there is a lot to enjoy here. I hope there is a blu-ray but I am not holding my breath.
