seemed to parallel the emotional arc of parasite - dark and comic at first, then mostly dark
obsessed w the shaman plot point / dirt on the paper to show the criminal’s face
themes: does culpability matter? can you know someone did something based on their eyes? also: forced confession, police violence & incompetence, city v. country, political protest

i was so prepared to be disappointed by carol's disappearance & the note (i was reminded of murmurs of youth) but they pulled thru w a happy ending :')
cate blanchett's portrayals of vulnerability are so interesting to me: calculated to retain a power dynamic; her subject can feel its pulse through an obstruction; and sometimes just barely, before it disappears from view
