…what the HELL did I just watch 😭 Also the way this is DEADASS THE ENDING TO ARCANE LMAO (ofc not 100%, but HEAVY inspo was taken from this movie)

Existential and experimental, End of Evangelion serves as one version of a finale to the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime, providing some actual closure to the absolute acid trip that was its last 2 episodes. This is SUCH a specific vision, and though I believe both the movie and show are also…

About indecision, the fear of dying before your dreams can be fulfilled, and how life is full of impermanent, imperfect relationships. While seemingly cynical, the comedy comes through situations that feel like “Ah! Aw man! What are the chances…” which gives it this stark, plain faced irony, not unlike life itself! I agree with all the reviews calling this a true modern/contemporary rom-com.

Slice of life, but never uninteresting, a great start to the new year! Wanting to do it all,…

Watched with SF movie squad 🙂‍↕️

Robert Pattinson acting go BRRRRRRRRR omg truly the character actor of our time. Wouldn’t be half as interested in this movie were it not for him — the “hehe 🤭” really SENT MEEEE

Hmm kinda over the top satirical messy and like a haphazard mix of Okja & Snow Piercer without any of the focus/finesse. Was still pretty entertaining and at one point I just had to admit that I needed to shut my brain…

    The Last Showgirl

DEFINITELY a debut film, gave off student film with the fattest budget in the world. Really disliked the camera work in this—odd blurring effect, overused shaky cam, and just the most boring shots of closeups between Person A talking to Person B over and over again.

That being said, I liked the overall stylistic vibe the movie was going for, and it’s another addition to the canon of girl failure movies that still manages to be interesting enough to keep…

Man I did NOT like anyone in this movie LOL. Some visually compelling shots to be sure, and Nosferatu’s shadow will always be cool. However, I didn’t really vibe with the music choices, hated the costumes, and found the characterization weak overall.

I know I’m watching from the retrospect, given the Eggers 2024 remake, but I kind of think if I hadn’t watched the newest one…I would have found this to be even more of a…

SUPERB PERFORMANCES. I teared up 4-5 times watching this. I loved the color grading, but idk if I’d say the filmmaking is especially strong. Watched this movie between a cafe study sesh and a housewarming party and it blew my expectations out of the water. Overall a very strong, well paced, meaningful film!!!

Also: the emotional strength and power of mothers wtf 😭😭 if a kid walked in asking me to fix a broken doll during me having a break down I think I’d never recover LOL. Fernanda Torres get your Oscar girl!
