Collateral 2004
I love watching movies by modern American masters. The way Mann is able to use early digital cinematography, turning it's quirks into positives, is delightful. I especially like the long zooms where the characters look like ants, it ties into Vincent's speech about the meaninglessness of our existence compared to the vastness of space. And yet we keep running and squirming to save the ones we care about. Great stuff.

The Matrix Resurrections 2021
Nostalgia for me gives this an extra point, but the fight scenes weren't as memorable as previous entries, too much shaky cam. I did love spending time with these characters one last time.

The House That Screamed 1969
Do yourself a favor and keep an open mind through the ending.
It is judgmental of me, but I don't expect something this provocative from this era. And apparently it was a smash hit in Spain! It starts as an elegant gothic horror movie with beautiful sets before morphing into something that would make Alfred Hitchcock blush. It even stops for a little S and M along the way. European horror from the 60s continues to surprise me.
