Persona 1966
Seeing such an emotional yet cold and oftentimes distant film is so refreshing. I really don't know how to describe it but Bergman might be the only film maker I have seen thus far to strip back any conventional character archetypes. In films with good characters, I could imagine them having a life of their own as real people in the context of the story. Bergman films are different, characters never feel like characters, they always feel like real people. I wanna watch all of his filmography or die trying.

Autumn Sonata 1978
Ava describes Prelude No. 2 in A minor by Chopin to be emotional but not sentimental and I think that's a perfect reflection of this film.
