  Visceral, tense, haunting — this fresh, modern perspective of war-time violence told through the eyes of photo journalists is both equally striking and emotional.

  Two things stood out to me — sound is used to such an effective degree that I barely noticed how much I was transported, and the photography is somehow both beautiful, and very lo-fi, the hand-held shots feel very much documentarian.

  First time watch was the black & white, Minus Color version and WOW is this film deeply affecting! I was blown away, punched in the gut and left sobbing a bit by the end 😭

  I didn't know much about the story going in, and I thought setting the time period right after WWII was a brilliant choice — the humanity and loss that the characters experienced was heartrending.

  I don't know how I slept on this film, but I highly recommend!
