It’s January 1 and I know I’ve already seen my favourite sequence of the year 🏰.
Some elements fell flat for me but the parts that soared more than made up for that.
I routinely grimaced, sweated, clenched, lost breath and had to retrieve my jaw from the floor, so yeah, a pretty good time at the movies.
Really impressed by this. The casting is obviously incredible, but almost everything else is just as good. The camerawork, dialogue, editing, production design and performances are a joy to watch.
I threw up about halfway through due to some questionable pre-bought snacks, but even that couldn’t rain on this parade.

WHO KNEW growing up a privileged straight white person used to be just so gosh darn hard??? If James Dean in this film was the voice of the generation, it's little wonder my parents and I grew up in a misogynistic patriarchy built on a foundation of fragile male ego.
Also, can anyone confirm that's Norma Desmond's mansion from Sunset Boulevard?
