  In the vein of Cloud Atlas, believe it or not.

  Because my wife was proofreading her novel before next weekend’s pitches, I wanted a movie that’s minimally intrusive, light on dialogue, relatively heavy on music — it might not have given me all of that, but it did set it all in a rural Italian village so it’s all gravy to me.

  Really fit the moment well.

  Schrader boys are wild. They’ll tell you, “you gotta see all his stuff, he’s a genius, a real auteur…”

  Then, 94 minutes pass by and it’s all “oh this one didn’t do anything for me.”
