Wow, what a ride. I can’t say I’m entirely satisfied with how everything was resolved, especially that s’more scene, but I can’t deny that I was hooked. That’s largely due to some great performances; Ralph Fiennes commands the room brilliantly, Anya Taylor-Joy is fantastic as our protagonist, and Nicholas Hoult is amazingly grating. I wish we got some answers as far as some character motivations and the logistics of everything, but maybe that lack of answers adds to “the menu”.…

Futuristic ass movie and her family got taken out by a damn deer that’s crazy

This movie didn’t make me feel *anything* and that’s the greatest sin a movie can commit to me. None of the characters were very interesting to me, I wasn’t invested in the stakes and just in general I really didn’t like the look of the movie at all. I think I’m tired of this CGI aesthetic in movies.

Really quite a wild cast we have…

Not quite as horrific as people made it sound just from looking at surface-level reception, but definitely not a good movie.

First of all, as a Borderlands fan I don't think the plot has ever been something I cared about in any of the games, so from the jump I wouldn't think it would make for a good movie. Then as I watched the movie that was kind of reaffirmed for me, as the plot wasn't very compelling at all…

What an interesting movie. I think it loses direction a bit at times and obviously the resolution leaves a lot to be desired but overall found it fascinating how it would constantly shift from some more serious, tension-building moments to complete nonsensical moments that turn everything on its head and make it seem like it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It might not be 100% successful at striking this balance but I appreciate it for trying and overall was engaged throughout regardless. You really could never tell what would happen next, and that definitely elevated the experience.
