  The acting and production here is tops. 

  Confused by how thin of a story this seemed to me, particularly since the first part felt so connected to the place and time. 

  I enjoyed it, but it was mostly a musical sans storytelling.

  The conclusion was satisfying and directed, so I’ll settle.

  I appreciate that the themes were coherent without being overly heavy handed.

  It doesn’t take much for something with such slow pacing to feel weighed down by source materials and history, but Eggers did a wonderful job of aligning the debate of society/order/health/hysteria/prejudice against science/myth.

  Not a huge fan of Nepo babes, but Lily-Rose is really just amazing in this and Bill is unrecognizable to the extent that I don’t think I could’ve guessed who was Orlok if I hadn’t…
