It has an interesting premise, but it only achieved a shallow exploration of them. Personally, the humor didn’t really land.
At least the acting by Robert Pattinson was great. However, nothing else in particular stood out. I wasn’t particularly awed, and the pacing was too slow. It just didn’t hook me.
I felt pretty disappointed by this movie. It was kind of interesting; however, it lacked a sense of tension throughout. I didn’t find myself really caring for any of the characters or what happened to them.
Also, the cinematography was very mediocre. There were one or two interesting shots, but apart from those, it wasn’t anything special. I believed the setting would lend itself well to having gorgeous cinematography, but unfortunately not.
One positive was that the acting was pretty terrific throughout, but it alone couldn’t elevate this movie.
I love the sci fi atmosphere and Romulus does not disappoint in that aspect.
The soundtrack was also excellent and I even liked some of the cheesy dialogue. The pacing was a little slow in the beginning and I felt all the characters were underdeveloped except for Andy and Rain.
However, overall a pretty good time and that monster design was disgustingly good.
