This is a very effective movie at doing something I don't find very interesting. It's sometimes funny, and there's something to the whole melancholy of being attached to something that's slowly dying, the way time can slip away from you, etc etc, but it's really not for me. Feels very authentic to an experience I've never had and don't particularly seek.

I was promised "the first sex with karate", and while there is plenty of sex, there is virtually no karate, so I'm pretty disappointed. Also, this movie is fucking terrible. Had a lot of fun with it.

This is fun, a lot of interesting shit thrown into it, with the only downside being that it does feel a bit like large portions of it are made of recycled material -- appropriately enough, of course. I think I'd have preferred if the movie broke free of the action element a little more, give us a movie about the Mickey's actually having to deal with their situation rather than just throwing them into peril. Maybe next time.

Hard to imagine how a movie this weird could also be kinda boring, but here we are. It makes bold stylistic choices like... Writing songs that don't have any discernible melody? Skipping, like, the entirety of one of the key relationships in the movie? Not bothering to put any meaningful character growth in your redemption arc? What is even going on with this movie?
