Hmm, i'd say this might've worked a tad better if you've had Raul Julia and Nastassja Kinski as the leads, instead of Garr and Forrest, who both feel pretty miscast in this neon-lit flop. It's all about that pretty surface though and that front manages to deliver some arresting visual moments for sure. Still, the story and acting on the most part is just too wobbly and that drags the whole experience down considerably.

Punishment Park 1971
Well, that was pretty wild and amazing in a sense how prophetically accurate it's depiction of America remains even to this day. Micro-budgeted pseudo-documentary style mixed with mostly non-professional actors working wonders and giving you an experience that leaves you quite stunned by the end. No wonder this was quickly shoved into the cabinet of hush-hush, as studios would not dare to touch it for distripution.

The Unknown Soldier 1985
Is it even possible to fumble a screen adaptation out of our very own national literary treasure. If you stick to the text and bring some capable actors to the mix, like in this Rauni Mollberg's gritty and realistic version, you really can't go wrong. It will be interesting to see how that upcoming 3rd adaptation (by Aku Louhimies) succeeds in this same task. Production will be more lavish and eye-catching in scope for sure, but once again if it lands the text in equal measure, it will be a worthy and welcome addition to the legend that is known as The Unknown Soldier.
