  Some shots in this look like the camera operator is standing on a pile of banana peels. The hand held shots are unhinged. Then Friedkin cuts to the same scene from a different angle and it’s steady as a rock.

  
  Definitely the least tan I’ve ever seen Scheider. After JAWS he was jerky bronze till the end of his days.

  Gene Hackman rolling away from a sniper was poetry in motion.
