"Hiya, the name's Midnight!!"

@midnight-and-his-melodiverse / midnight-and-his-melodiverse.tumblr.com

Hiya there! The name's Midnight, and I'm an 20 year old autistic who is an interesting blend of aspiring author, and hobby music composer. My OC projects on the go right now, are the Team Fate series, which is an attempt at bridging my music and storywriting skills together for imaginary games, and the planned Melodiverse Rebuild.

MIDNIGHT'S MELODIVERSE LITERARY UNIVERSE MASTERLIST

VERSION IV MAIN STORIES ------------------

Songs Of The Melody Blade: Tales of The Melodiverse (The Melody Blade Saga, rebranded!)

Form: Episodic story

Description: A young wolf-human boy named Midnight, and his insufferable supernatural sibling Staticlight, discover a blade of mysterious origin on his doorstep one morning. Meanwhile, a small group of explorers and historians search for something to document on their travels. Eventually, both the group of explorers, and Midnight and Staticlight bump into eachother. After Midnight shows them the wonders of this new blade that had come into his possession, Midnight and the explorers must work together to keep it safe as they encounter new friends who want to help along this journey, and enemies and threats that are more than willing to use the power this weapon holds to destabilize the Melodiverse as a whole.

Goblin Theft Auto

Form: Series of short stories Descriptions: Goblin Theft Auto is a collection of five short stories, which follows the reluctant adventures of a young goblin girl named Leshi Desxia along with a group of goblin misfits as they wish to be known and feared for their crimes, for whatever reason.

"Misfits of Penwood City" , the first of five stories in this collection, follows the beginning of their adventures as they try to break in to random people's houses and startle them just enough so they can sneak in andโ€ฆ apparently, steal a bowl of fruit for the road ahead.

"The Sunlight Library", the second of five, follows the cast as they come across the elusive Sunlight Library, run by a young teen girl and a magical librarian cat named Naida, who somehow keeps track of everyone's favorite books, their names, and how often they come in.

After a failed attempt to try and take the cat for their own, they high-tail it out of there as fast as they showed up, hoping that they won't get caught.

"The Bank of Strange Gems, the third of five, follows the cast as they take an excursion to Penwood City's Gem Bank, a place where the mysterious seven Melody Gems are kept, that hold the world's magic in balance. Of course, some of the misfits get a LITTLE too curious, which nearly ends up with one of them being turned into a Night Demon, after fiddling with the Moon Gem for too long.

"Into the Starlight Forest", the fourth of five, follows the cast during one of their daily burglary excursions, when a distress signal calls them to a strange forest called the Starlight Forest.

Here, they encounter a home of faeries who say that they're in trouble because some of their friends have been put under a malicious spell by the shadow goddess Atrixi. However, before they go further on their adventure, they head to the Sunlight Library and borrow the magical librarian cat, who might prove useful. And the final story "Dungeons and Demons" the fifth, follows the cast as they find Atrixi, free the faeries, and kill many demons.

The Titania Collective

Form: Episodic story Description: Season 1: After two adventurous young kids stumble upon a strange spacecraft, they are thrown into a grand adventure through space with a cranky AI who loves to misnavigate the ship, a group of strangely greedy space pirates who really want a piece of the group's ship, named the Titania, and an emperor who wishes to siphon music magic from everyone and everything to give himself power. Season 2: ??? Season 3: ???

Well fuck me. I've been dormant from this blog of mine for quite a fair bit!! Who knows when I'll be back... I've been caught up in so many things recently (college, an album of mine, etc.)

Birthday

I'm 20 now, apparently. Interesting how time works. One moment at the beginning of the pandemic I'm 15-16, then the next year 17-18, then 19. and now 20.

I don't really know what the future holds for me but all I do know is that it's time to unshackle myself from my fears. I aspire to have a life built off of thrilling memories, not the times that I suddenly decided that I didn't want to do something.

The future was calling out my name (and Iโ€™d feel like a complete fool not to answer)

Growing up with Cerebral Palsy obviously hasnโ€™t been, and will never continue to be, easy and having Autism bundled with that tooโ€ฆ Itโ€™s like a package deal of struggles, stress, and fears, and everything else like the small minute traits of perfectionism and people pleasing. I was roundly mocked and made fun of for various things, like my stimming and the way that I walked (which I can recall, kinda looked like a penguin walk). Sometimes I would say things and all the other person ever heard was the complete opposite interpretation, which of course led to lots and lots of misunderstandings. As I was in the throes of the mocking and bullying, part of me contemplated why I was born this way and if I would always be made fun of, become the butt of the joke in my world and have no friendsโ€ฆ but the logical part of my brain clapped back hard against that. This is only one part of your life, youโ€™re still in school, you havenโ€™t gotten to experience the thrills of freedom yet. But donโ€™t despair, youโ€™ll get there soon enough. Keep fighting, you have everything to live for. And Iโ€™m very happy that my logical brain was right. A couple years go by and Iโ€™m happily making my way through middle school, slowly collecting friends through a shared passion of band, and life was turning around. I suddenly went from being laughed at to laughing with other people and that was the point in my life where I felt the brightest future was on the horizon. The future was calling out my name, and Iโ€™d feel like a complete fool not to answer. Scenes from the final year of high school that feels like such a present memory still play back in tiny little snippets, giving me the state of my life in those ever precious pictures taken, videos recorded, words spoken, music played, that helped make those unforgettable moments happen. And when that graduation night came, happy tears were shed by many, not by me because of lack of emotional maturity but on the inside my brain and heart were filled with indescribable joy. The kind you get when frolicking through bright sunlit meadows and pure blue skies. The picturesque landscapes you think of first when entering this lovely world. While we all wished the world could be this full of soul and love and compassion, simply the things we were fed through media said otherwise, painting the most grim artworks of our planetโ€™s future. As despair and fear ran rampant, it all seemed hopelessโ€ฆ and yet those words, like an insistent push beckoned me forward in the careless march of time. Keep fighting, you have everything to live for. So on that beautiful night when farewells were exchanged and blessings for plentiful futures were abundant, I smiled the widest I could muster, for the joys in my being could not be quelled. After the final parting words, walking out of the hall, I looked towards the bright night sky and with a resolute gaze, took a peek into the next chapter of my life. Bringing us to the present day. As I turn over a new leaf in age, I offer this wisdom: What life is worth living if your fears shackle you in your comfort zone? You see all these situations ahead of you and they decide youโ€™re better off wallowing in your sorrow and anxiety, but sometimes you have to gain the willpower to assert your dominance over these negative parts of you and let yourself fly free. Because freedom is empowering and itโ€™s something I truly wish to experience just so I can say, when Iโ€™ve caught up with the march of time, that Iโ€™ve scaled mountains, metaphorical cliffs, conquered fears, and bettered myself in ways I never thought I could. Bettered myself in ways that would make younger me proud.

Promises to Keep

for this week's @flashfictionfridayofficial prompt!

word count: 486

(For context, this takes place a few months before The Highest Bidder)

โ€”

Sickly sweet shipments lilted the air, sown of salt and seagulls.

Azuryia dashed to the docks, approaching her brother as he was about to board. He stood there in dashing garb, a half-sleeve tailed coat the shade of the ocean, illuminating his earthy complexion.

โ€œYou forgot this.โ€ She smiled, holding a gold charm.

Iskar closed her fingers over it, smiling. โ€œSay farewell to your mother for me, okay?โ€

The two of them bumped their hands in a series of gestures, the finish imitating boat cannons as he strode away.

โ€œPromise me youโ€™ll bring back some narolise, will you?โ€

He smiled again, winking. โ€œIโ€™ll try.โ€

She squeezed the gold charm in her right hand. โ€œYou had no hand in this.โ€

The ocean ebbed and flowed, as it always did.

Andreas made a gesture for the dead. โ€œNeither did you.โ€

THESE LINES THO- I love this so much!!!

Happy last STS of 2024! What has been your happiest or proudest writing moment of the last year? Or, if you need it, just feel free to share anything at all here. ๐Ÿซถ

Hi Tori!! Thanks for the ask! Truth be told, I haven't done much writing this year. My music has been more of a focus, haha! But I assure y'all. One day my writing will be graced upon my writeblr again and all shall be right in the world. But that might be awhile before that happens, idk. I'll play it by ear <3

reblog with one creative goal that you would like to pursue in 2025 in the tags

it doesnโ€™t have to be โ€˜bigโ€™ and there is no pressure to complete said goal. but iโ€™d love to hear from writers, artists, performers, academics, designers, coders, and so on! ๐Ÿค

if itโ€™s a creative outlet, itโ€™s included. letโ€™s inspire each other โ‹† หš๏ฝกโ‹†เญจเญงหš

A relatively uneventful year-end review, as I've largely taken a writeblr break for most of this year. Am still very thankful for you guys as a community for still sticking by my side even through the inactivity, and here's to 2025 bolstering my writing flame once again <33

Oh no! Your story's been infected with a classic horror trope! Who's your final girl? Are your characters going into the basement? Who gets possessed? How is everyone handling the jumpscares? (And any others, because I don't watch enough horror to know more ๐Ÿคญ)

Haha thanks for the ask Tori!! Unfortunately I donโ€™t watch much horror... but I think that maybe Midnight is the one who is constantly on edge whilst Staticlight is there laughing at him, and ofc Ambrosia is there to comfort Midnight, while simultaneously being scared herself LOL
