Random AU's

@kokichikinnienumberwhoknowswhat / kokichikinnienumberwhoknowswhat.tumblr.com

I am full of ideas for AU's (majority of them Danganronpa/Omori) and I spend majority of my time either watching playthroughs and FTE's or working on AU's so yeah. Not all of them are connected.

psa to everyone on antipsychotics during the summertime

some antipsychotics can make you more susceptible to heat exhaustion because they make it so your body cannot regulate your body temperature correctly. I learned this the hard way last summer, I got really nasty heat exhaustion while on a high dose of quetiapine. so check if your meds react badly to heat, and if they do, please be sure to wear your sunscreen, have light cover ups on or with you, wear a hat, and stay hydrated! be safe

especially duloxetine and clozapine, know the signs of dehydration, take cooling breaks if you have to be in the sun

duloxetine is commonly branded in the USA as Cymbalta.

Note: many anti-bipolar meds are also antipsychotics. I found a list of psychotropic meds that can increase risk of heat exhaustion here:

Can personally confirm that Latuda/Lurasidone can also mess with your heat response and lead to heat exhaustion if you aren’t careful, like I wasn’t.

[ID: Screenshot of a page with two columns listing trade names beside generic names of medications; the columns have been compiled into a list for ease of comprehension/reading.

Common psychotropic medications that may impair the heat response:

Trade name - Generic name

Abilify, Aristada - aripiprazole Asendin - amoxapine Artane - trihexyphenidyl Aventyl, Pamelor - nortriptyline Benadryl - diphenhydramine Celexa - citalopram Clozaril, Fazaclo, Versacloz - clozapine Cogentin - benztropine Cymbalta - duloxetine Desyrel, Oleptro - trazodone Elavil - amitriptyline Effexor - venlafaxine Eskalith, Lithobid, Lithonate - lithium Fanapt - iloperidone Fetzima - levomilnacipran Geodon - ziprasidone Haldol - haloperidol Invega - paliperidone Lexapro - escitalopram Loxitane - loxapine Latuda - lurasidone Navane - thiothixene Norpramin - desipramine Nuplazid - pimavanserin Paxil - paroxetine Phenergan - promethazine Pristiq - desvenlafaxine Prolixin - fluphenazine Prozac - fluoxetine Rexulti - brexpiprazole Risperdal - risperidone Saphris - asenapine Seroquel - quetiapine Sinequan, Silenor - doxepin Stelazine - trifluoperazine Thorazine - chlorpromazine Tofranil - imipramine Trilafon - perphenazine Trintellix - vortioxetine Wellbutrin, Zyban - bupropion Viibryd - vilazodone Vraylar - cariprazine Zoloft - sertraline Zyprexa - olanzapine

Can confirm that Seroquel also exacerbates my preexisting photophobia as well as temperature regulation!

Full list of all drugs from the CDC that increases heat sensitivity. These include the following types:

  • Cardiovascular medications - antihypertensives (diuretics, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEi) and angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARBs), angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs), combination drug including ARB), anti-platelet medications, antiaginals
  • Psychiatric medications - mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, SSRis, SNRIs, tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs)
  • Antiseizure medications
  • Antihistamines with anticholinergic properties
  • Antialgesics - Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (this includes ibuprofen/advil, naproxen/aleve, see full list here), aspirin, acetaminophen
  • Antibiotics - sulfonamides
  • Antiretrovirals - Indinavir
  • Thyroid replacement - levothyroxine
  • Stimulants
  • Hallucinogens
  • Alcohol

fantastic addition, thank you so much!

This sent me down a research rabbithole, and holy crap.

I’m on Wellbutrin, have been for nine years. Just now am I finding out that overheating easily and sweating buckets upon exertion might be med-related. Increased sweating was reported by literally 1 in 5 people. Now it could just be that this is something my adult body does, but dry mouth is also a persistent problem that’s extremely common with Wellbutrin.

I’ll probably stick with it as a focus aid until I’m done with college in December. But hey, I haven’t been suicidal for years (every single thing has changed) and the ADHD isn’t debilitating. I might revisit this in January and talk with my doctor to see what’s best for me.

Even if it’s not literal heat exhaustion, sometimes it can be just really sucky. I am way more sensitive to heat than to cold now, when before it was the opposite. I broke down and bought an air conditioner last year because I couldn’t handle the heat the same way I did before meds.

Ok so imagine:

Shadow's inhibitor rings had different settings and stuff. G. U. N. Could control it/the settings thing broke when the whole incident happened. What if it was set to the highest maximum so that Chaos Energy could be siphoned?

With the settings broken and the maximum being on, Shadow would have to regulate how long the rings are on for. Take them off every once in a while (maybe once a day or week idk) so that he doesn't get weak. If he forgets to do that then he will get sick (which yes he is the ultimate lifeform and yes he shouldn't get sick but this is a his body issue not an external sickness so yes it could work).

I'd say the 3 general symptoms would be lethargy (sleepy/unresponsiveness), dizziness, and irritability (well, more irritable than at normal). There are definitely more symptoms but you probably want to keep doomscrolling so just enter "low energy symptoms" into Google and hopefully Gemini (that's what the ai is called right) will give more symptoms, but those are the main 3.

On the flip side, if he forgets to put them back on and gets too much energy, then he can't use his abilities without overshooting how much power he has and how much power he needs to use (like with the teleporting, he tries to go one place but overshoots and ends up in some random place) and gets downright restless (having to constantly move around because if he stands still he feels like he's gonna explode), and maybe a side of anxiety too (too much energy can play into anxiety, if Shadow is overflowing with Chaos Energy, there is the chance he'll become anxious). Oh yeah, and also probably a racing heart beat.

And yes, Tails could fix it (truth be told, he probably will once he figures out how too), but Shadow probably wouldn't willingly tell anyone about the whole situation. They gang would probably find out by finding Shadow unresponsive because of too little, or having an panic/anxiety attack because he forgot to put the rings back on and other causes.

Though, while Tails is figuring out the rings, if it takes a while, the group could remind him to regulate his energy.

But yeah just a thought.

They ported Sonic Unleashed to Linux PC for some reason. If you even care.

The one with the big hulking muscular werewolf sonic? With his big claws and teeth? Could pick me up and break my spine effortlessly? The one who's probably all sweaty and musky from running so fast all the time? That sonic?

Why can't people just be normal about Sonic.

Because he's hot and has a massive sock (sonic cock) that gets bigger in werewolf form and could rail you at the speed of sound

You will not see the light of heaven.

My biggest tip for fanfic writers is this: if you get a character's mannerisms and speech pattern down, you can make them do pretty much whatever you want and it'll feel in character.

Logic: Characters, just like real people, are mallable. There is typically very little that's so truly, heinously out of character that you absolutely cannot make it work under any circumstance. In addition, most fans are also willing to accept characterization stretches if it makes the fic work. Yeah, we all know the villain and the hero wouldn't cuddle for warmth in canon. But if they did do that, how would they do it?

What counts is often not so much 'would the character do this?' and more 'if the character did do this, how would they do it?' If you get 'how' part right, your readers will probably be willing to buy the rest, because it will still feel like their favourite character. But if it doesn't feel like the character anymore, why are they even reading the fic?

Worry less about whether a character would do something, and more about how they'd sound while doing it.

I don't remember where I saw this piece of advice so I can't credit it, unfortunately

But it was along the lines of "instead of asking whether something is out of character, ask 'what would it take for this character to do this'"

Which I think fits really nicely with this advice of making the actual action itself also feel in character

You see, Perry the Platypus, when Vanessa was a little girl, she wanted to take estrogen. Of course, I said yes. And since then she’s always been my little girl. Well recently, Vanessa’s school deadnamed her on her reports! Can you believe that!? I mean we live in a fairly progressive area and—hey, isn’t that not allowed in public schools??

Anyway, that’s when I got the idea for THIS! The deadname-eraser-inator! That way, not only will Vanessa no longer be deadnamed, but EVERY OTHER TRANS PERSON IN THE TRI! STATE! AREA!

Perry spends this episode fixing the wall he put a hole through on the way in

For clarification/lore/whatever on “Stupid Fears About Free Will,” Edge's blood is NOT Darkmess. Edge’s blood and Darkmess are 2 separate things. Sure, there is Darkmess in Edge’s blood, but it isn't the entirety of their blood.

Usually it's just some spots of black in a sea of red (which Edge passes off as Darkmess from a hit, which usually makes sense because after a battle the team has a mix of excess Darkmess from the hits they take in battle, which sometimes mixes with any open wounds).

(Jeanie and Beep-O have clarified that the little bit of Darkmess that gets in their open wounds is fine, just as long as they disinfect the wound then it'll be fine, their bodies will absorb any excess Darkmess and turn it into energy they can use.)

(Disinfecting the wounds slightly weakens Edge, accumulating over time, so they just don't disinfect the wound, saying that they can do it on their own and just not doing it).

(No one has noticed this).
