Accomplishments

This 72-page research-based  paper  documents the two years (January 2013 -December, 2014)  detailed scholarly involvements and contributions conducted,  with support from MAAP , PAEPI and external agencies for the accomplishment of MDGs towards ASEAN 2015 integration. All these have been accomplished in Year 2013-2014  only , in her capacity being the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) Research and Extension Services and now as  MAAP External Relations Director Official and as the 6-year President of the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementers, Inc ((PAEPI with SEC-2009-10059) now PAEPI Chairman Emeritus , that supports ASEAN 2015 integration thru MDGs accomplishments particularly MDG number 8 on global partnerships. The documentary evidences such as communications, photos and outcomes for each activity that    were  recognized by reputable various external institutions are on file at the MAAP External Relations Office (ERO) office and MAAP Human Resource Division/Administration . Guided by the institutions' vision, mission, goals and objectives (VMGO), accreditation tools, National/International Standards and ASEAN roadmap for schools, all information and data gathered were analyzed using scientific research methodology to come up with this paper that articulates the various  contributions for global integration, scholarly activities or services rendered as per external requests, commendations/awards/grants from reputable  external agencies and outcomes-based education that have been initiated and accomplished from January 2013-December 2014. The scope of this paper is limited to international external linkages with institutional, provincial, regional, national and international impact initiated as MAAP ERO and PAEPI  President  for the past two years. All these have been accomplished because MAAP is led by its pioneer president VAdm Eduardo Ma. R Santos, AFP ( Ret), former Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy, and the PAEPI Honorary Adviser , who  supported and approved scholarly activities beneficial for all concerned. PAEPI is currently led by Atty April Amihan Alcazar, PhD , the incumbent President of the University of Pasig or  Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP)

Despite the very significant advances in understanding the semantics of eventualities since the Davidsonian revolution, the representation of Accomplishments in ceteris non paribus contexts where the telos is not reached remains problematic. In this paper we propose that non­culminating or defeasible cases of Accomplishments are the base case in a reconceptualized semantics for event structure. The core concept that we use in our reconceptualization is 'force', an input of energy that arises from the objects and properties in a situation. This approach cashes in the intuition behind the traditional concept of dynamicity, which has been an important descriptor in event semantics but which has not usually been expressly encoded in model-­theoretic accounts of the syntax/semantics interface. Force arguments replace event arguments in dynamic predicates, and situation arguments replace event arguments in stative predicates. The resulting type distinction also yields new insight into the distinction between dynamic and stative predicates.

The question of what constitutes and facilitates mental health or psychological well-being has remained of great interest to martial artists and philosophers alike, and still endures to this day. Although important questions about well-being remain, it has recently been argued in the literature that a paradigmatic or prototypical case of human psychological well-being would characteristically consist of positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment. Other scholarship has also recently suggested that martial arts practice may positively pro-mote psychological well-being, although recent studies on martial arts have not yet been reviewed and integrated under the PERMA framework from positive psychology to further explore and explicate this possibility. This article therefore contributes to the literature by reviewing recent work on psychological well-being and martial arts to determine whether there is substantive support for the claim that practicing martial arts can positively contribute to one flourishing with greater psychological well-being.

Burnout is a negative situation that occurs triggered by chronic stress and leading to a reduction in
the individual's cynicism and personal accomplishment. Education, which has significant effects
on all stages of human life, may be exposed to situations that may pose barriers to success such as
burnout. Graduate students studying the problems they experienced were particularly dissertation
period, although in this case they caused the collapse spiritually may affect negatively their
success. Especially as natural sciences, production, intensive research and projects works, are
some of the problems identified which the students face during their research. In this study, the
Maslach Burnout Inventory was employed in analysing the data which was obtained from 241
students in Turkey; frequency analysis, factor analysis and t and reliability test analysis were the
analytical tools used. However; male student’s cynicism, in the course of work the students with
emotional burnout and those using cigarette where found to have more fatigue in their livings.

The aim of this study is to examine burnout levels of secondary education teachers in terms of some variables.
The study was conducted with descriptive survey model and 532 secondary education teachers working in Aydın
in 2009-2010 academic year participated in the study. At the end of the study it was found that there was a significant
difference between teachers’ burnout levels and their demographic features such as subject, age, sex, seniority,
and their opinions about relationships with administrators and colleagues, updated secondary education
curriculum. On the other hand, it was seen that there was no significant difference between their burnout levels
and demographic features like faculty they graduated and type of school they work and their opinions about
physical condition of the school they work, academic level of students, their economic levels, university entrance
system and their attendance to in service training courses. Findings reached were discussed in connection with
literature and suggestions were made.

Francesca Saggini introduces this collection of essays by leading scholars in Burney studies, and provides an interdisciplinary critical consideration of the relationship of one of the major authors of the long English Romanticism with the arts. The encounter, Saggini claims, was not devoid of tensions, and indeed often required a degree of wrangling on Burney’s part. As evidenced by its complex biographical implications, this was a revealing and at times contentious dialogue, allowing us to reconstruct in an original and highly focused way the feminine negotiation with such key concepts of the late Enlightenment and Romanticism as virtue, reputation, creativity, originality, artistic expression, and self-construction. Saggini underlines the interconnections between mutually reinforcing forms of neighbouring artistic activities as components of a broader spectrum of interartistic and intermedial cultural signification, pivotal to contextualize and reassess Frances Burney’s work.

Predicates like “coloring-the-star” denote events that have a temporal duration and a culmination point (telos). When combined with perfective aspect (e.g., “Valeria has colored the star”), a culmination inference arises implying that the action has stopped, and the star is fully colored. While the perfective aspect is known to constrain the conceptualization of the event as telic, many reading studies have demonstrated that readers do not make early commitments as to whether the event is bounded or unbounded. A few visual-world studies tested the processing of telic predicates during online sentence processing, demonstrating an early integration of aspectual and temporal cues.
