Dialogue

This is the Editorial of the second issue of the 19th volume of Sanyasa Journal of Consecrated Life. This particular issue carries the plenary presentations of the 20th ICLS National Seminar held at Sanyasa Institute in February 3-4, 2024, on the theme,  Reclaiming the Prophetic Voice in VUCA India: A Challenge for the Consecrated Today.

Der Beitrag stellt einleitend einige Formen der interpersonalen,
digital-schriftlichen Kommunikation vor und weist auf wichtige
Etappen in der Forschungsgeschichte hin. Dann steht die
Kommunikation mit Chatbots im Fokus, also mit virtuellen
Dialogsystemen, wie sie beispielsweise als Sprachassistenten auf
dem Handy eingesetzt werden (Siri, Google Assistant) und heute
immer populärer werden. Das dritte Kapitel vergleicht diese mit
der Nutzung des Textgenerierungsprogramms ChatGPT, das seit
November 2022 zur Verfügung steht und in der Lage ist, Dialoge
zu führen, die man auf den ersten Blick nicht von der
Kommunikation mit Menschen unterscheiden kann. Zur
Illustration dienen hier Dialogausschnitte, in denen ChatGPT, Siri
und dem Google Assistant dieselben Fragen gestellt werden.
Abschließend folgt eine Gegenüberstellung von digitaler Mensch-
Mensch-Kommunikation und Mensch-Maschine-Kommunikation.
Das geschieht auf der Basis eines Dialogausschnitts, der aus einem
Familienchat stammt und auszugsweise bei ChatGPT eingegeben
wurde. Es wird gezeigt, wie sich die Antworten von ChatGPT
gestalten, wenn dem Programm keine Vorgaben gemacht werden,
und wie die Kommunikation im Vergleich dazu verläuft, wenn vor
Beginn des Dialogs im Prompt Kontextregeln notiert werden.

There are different views among Islamic theologians about the goals and structure of globalization. While some theologians argue that globalization harms Islam and Muslims, some theologians argue that although globalization has some negative effects, it also has beneficial aspects for Islam and Muslims. The views of theologians who claim that globalization has positive results for Muslims are discussed and criticized below. We explain below that these views are wrong and do not fully reflect the facts, and therefore actually harm Islam.

Dentro de la Teoria Constructiva de Tipos (en adelante TCT) las constantes logicas son interpretadas a traves de la correspondencia Curry-Howard entre proposiciones y conjuntos. The Artwalk Corpus is a collection of 48 mobile phone conversations between 24 pairs of friends and 24 pairs of strangers performing a novel, naturalistically-situated referential communication task. This task produced dialogues which, on average, are just under 40 minutes. The task requires the identification of public art while walking around and navigating pedestrian routes in the downtown area of Santa Cruz, California. Este artigo propõe uma tipologia das decisões judiciais em geral, olhando
especificamente para o caso do Supremo Tribunal Federal, com o objetivo de
clarificar o conteúdo do direito revelado através da jurisprudência. Segundo a classificação proposta, decisões judiciais podem ser precedentes reais, precedentes gerenciais, ou decisões de aplicação. Precedentes reais estabelecem regras que não versam sobre a restrição da competência da própria corte. Em contrapartida, precedentes gerenciais são aquelas decisões que estabelecem restrições sobre a competência do próprio tribunal. Conforme veremos, os precedentes gerenciais com frequência não são muito informativos sobre o conteúdo do direito positivo e sua prevalência pode reduzir drasticamente a visibilidade dos precedentes reais.
Finalmente, decisões de aplicação são aquelas que se limitam a aplicar alguma fonte do direito previamente existente (incluindo, mas não se limitando, a aplicação de precedentes reais). A análise dos dados do Supremo Tribunal Federal aponta para a viabilidade e importância prática e teórica da distinção, especialmente para investigações quantitativas, já que experimentos utilizando uma árvore de decisão revelam que citações recebidas pelos processos são altamente informativas de sua classificação.

The dynamics of ethical behaviour has long been a preoccupation of the Public Relations (PR) field, yet in the United Kingdom, there are few empirical studies of ethical practice to date. In this article – through interviews with 22 UK Public Relations practitioners (PRPs) in small and medium-sized enterprises – we address this empirical gap. We examine three dimensions of ethical practice: societal responsibilities, truth-telling and the role of professional bodies. In the literature, the PRP is often positioned as the ethical conscience of the corporation, but in Shakespeare’s words, ‘uneasy lies the head that wears a crown’. Our findings reveal a range of ethical standards, some of which would make professional bodies blush. Many PRPs aspire towards an ethical counsel role but lack agency in the face of commercial and organisational forces. Rather than challenge such forces and the system they are part of, participants talked of coping strategies. At the same time, practitioners flow between ethical identities, painting a fluid, complex and occasionally contradictory picture of ethical practice that does not fall neatly into ethical metanarratives. While deontological ethical frameworks (typically expressed through codes of conduct) have dominated the professional field, our findings suggest that for many practitioners, such codes remain distant. Findings are discussed within ongoing debates around professionalisation, professional identity and the political economy of PR work.

В статье описываются языковые средства и речевые приемы, которые используются в учебных текстах для выражения разных аспектов взаимодействия между автором (ученым и педагогом) и учащимся. Материал работы - примеры из школьных учебников для средней школы по биологии, географии, истории, обществознанию, русскому языку и физике. В результате коммуникативно-функционального анализа маркеров взаимодействия участников коммуникации впервые выделены способы организации учебно-познавательной деятельности учащегося в учебном тексте: регулирование процесса чтения, управление вниманием читателя, актуализация знаний, моделирование сценариев познавательной деятельности, иллюстративное объяснение материала.

Doposud byly literární dialogy v českém prostředí studovány pouze jako součást výzkumu různých témat nebo žánrů. Tyto studie opomíjejí otázku, proč byly dialogy v 16. století tak populární a jakou funkci v komunikaci zastávaly. Článek představuje jednotlivé znaky dialogů, které autoři používali k obhajobě a propagaci tohoto žánru. Dialogy byly oceňované pro svou jasnost, přístupnost a potěšení, které čtenářstvu přinášely. Další chválenou vlastností byla jejich účinnost; byly přesvědčivé a mohly vést k sebereflexi a ideologické transformaci čtenáře.
So far, the literary dialogues in Bohemia have been studied only as part of research on various topics or genres. These studies omit the question of why dialogues were so popular in the 16th century and how they functioned in communication. The article presents various characteristics of dialogue used by authors to defend and promote this genre. Dialogues are praised for their clarity, accessibility, and the delight they bring to readers. Another praised quality is their performative effectiveness; they are persuasive and can lead to the readers’ self-reflexivity and ideological transformation.

Will there be dialogue between the Congolese or not? (Kabamba Patience) Some Congolese voices are urgently calling for inter-Congolese dialogue. The nature of this dialogue will be a kind of introspection, going back to the recent elections organized by democracy support organizations such as the CENI and the Constitutional Court. This dialogue will consist of a point-by-point examination of what went wrong at the level of the CENI and the Constitutional Court; these two supposedly neutral organizations have become highly politicized. We can therefore imagine dialogue as a corrective remedy against the product of these structures that are the National Assembly and the Senate. In other words, we can imagine how to continue the life of the nation in the presence of a group of people who are legally elected because they are declared as such by the CENI and the Constitutional Court, but who are illegitimate because it is not by the true will of the people that they are there. This dialogue therefore allows us to discuss ways and means of creating the type of legitimacy that is lacking in the current leadership of our institutions.
