Modern Family

El personaje de Claire Dunphy de la serie de television Modern Family es un ama de casa casada con tres hijos que esta totalmente dedicada a su hogar, esposo e hijos. El presente analisis se enfrenta el modelo femenino propuesto por el caracter con la concepcion feminista de las mujeres reales durante las primeras cuatro temporadas de la serie. Esto permite establecer el tipo de estilo de vida y los valores que transmite a la audiencia. Mediante la aplicacion de un modelo de analisis etico que cuestiona acerca de sus ambitos antropologicos, Claire aparece como una mujer moderna que eligio a su familia sobre su carrera y ha encontrado en su puesto actual, la sensacion de una vida exito y amorosa.

Özet Kültür endüstrisi, kültür ürünlerinin gerçek kültür ürünleri olmaktan çıkıp bir endüstriye dönüştüğü, sanat ürününün bir araca indirgendiği ve bu ürünlerin tektipleştiği, bireye uygulanan baskıyı artıran bir kültürel endüstridir. Bir endüstriden bahsedilecekse önce meta tanımı yapmak doğru bir başlangıç olabilir. Meta en basit tabiriyle "ticaret malı" demektir (TDK). Kültür endüstrisi, yüksek kültüre ait bir ürün değil de meta ürettiği için kültür endüstrisi ürünleri aslında birer metadır, ürünlerin fetiş değeri kullanım değerinden fazladır (örneğin bir süre çok ünlenmiş olan lokma tatlısı gibi). "Seri üretimin kültürü ve sayısız faili aracılığıyla norm haline getirilen davranış biçimleri bireye yegâne doğal, saygıdeğer, mantıklı davranış biçimi olarak dayatılır" (Özçetin, Yedinci Bölüm: Frankfurt Okulu, 2018). Kültürün endüstriyel olması aslında kültürün seri üretime tabi olması demektir. The family, as the first and the main social institution, forms the value orientations of the growing personality. The organization of substantial family leisure is a significant problem and one of the main tasks of the state. Favorable conditions for the organization of cultural leisure and recreation as well as for the realization of the family’s creative potential and social activity can be created in modern theme parks. The authors substantiate the role of theme parks, their social and cultural potential, in the organization of rational leisure for a modern family. The territory of theme parks is designed for recreation and entertainment. The range of services is based on the concept and theme of the Park. After the analysis of the socio-cultural activities of theme parks in the Russian regions , the authors come to the conclusion that it is necessary to study, develop and promote the constructive experience of modern theme parks for the organization of socially justified and diverse family leisure, contributing to the spiritual enrichment and physical improvement, the horizons broadening, the realization of the creative potential of the individual, taking into account the opportunities and needs of each family member.

This work approaches the ever-unresolved question about the families’ educative task in the current society. This task is justified by the need of establishing new criteria and educative orientations on the bases of the current events that family life is going through. After a brief description of the reality sociological family in Spain, it is laid down that family is an ethnic community of people where hospitality lives as a criterion to build the morality of the individual. The family is the social space where it is effectively the responsibility of parents caring for their children. If family relations are hospitality praxis, then family life is a privileged
space for the teaching of value that is experienced by the other as a responsible citizen. Therefore, values are learned in and from host experience, donation as well as the accompaniment of the adults in the shape of narration and testimony of both children and teenagers. The experience of receiving care becomes responsible for the fathers to their children; the Responsible Care Ethic is the fundamental attitude that the children can learn moral values in family life. From this attitude are derived three basic criteria for relationships between family members can promote the learning of values. On the one hand, states that pedagogical  houghtfulness is an appropriate way establishing relationships between parents and children. Next to this tact, indicates that careful listening is another important ingredient of education in values, in which dialogue and humor become dynamic elements of interpersonal communication between parents and children in family life.

The purpose of the present systematic and critical review was to assess the findings and to identify the gaps in the literature concerning gay and bisexual fathers. A comprehensive search of relevant literature using electronic databases and reference lists for articles published until December 2016 was conducted. A total of 63 studies, spanning from 1979 to 2016, were collected. More than half of the studies were published after 2011 and the overwhelming majority were conducted in the United States. Nine themes were identified in the studies reviewed: (1) Pathways to fatherhood; (2) Motivations for fatherhood; (3) Parenting experiences and childrearing; (4) Family life and relationship quality; (5) Gender and father identities and gender-role orientation; (6) Disclosure of sexual identity; (7) Social climate; (8) Father's psychosocial adjustment; and (9) Children's psychosocial adjustment. It was found that research on gay fatherhood appears to be more heterogeneous than on lesbian motherhood, perhaps because of the variety of pathways to parenthood (via co-parenting, adoption, fostering, or surrogacy). Two-father families are becoming more visible in research on sexual minority parenting and gradually transforming the conceptualization of parenting in family research.

The issue of the representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (hereinafter referred to as LGBT) people on television screens is very important – due to the influence that television has on viewers. This thesis presents a brief historical development of the LGBT representation on television from the 1950s until the year 2013. The fundamental issue of the thesis is the representation of the same-sex families (so-called rainbow families) in popular comedy series – in this case, the examples are based on the analysis of the series 'Modern Family' and 'The New Normal'.

The American family has been broadcasted worldwide on television for many decades. It is characterized as diverse and ever changing as we can see on Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven, Full House, and The Fosters. Media has been illustrating many different types of families and how they are coping with their roles within the family; whether that is being a single parent, a partner in a traditional marriage, being in a homosexual relationship, or a foster parent.
In this paper I will analyze the gender roles of the American family that is represented on television and to what extent, if at all, these gender roles changed from the 1950s to today. I argue that the representation of gender in the American television family today is still portraying traditional gender roles like it did in the 1950s.

La experiencia de la acogida se convierte en cuidado responsable de los padres hacia sus hijos; el cuidado responsable es la actitud ética fundamental de los padres para que los hijos puedan aprender valores morales dentro de la vida familiar. De esa actitud se derivan cuatro criterios básicos: el tacto o sensibilidad pedagógica, la escucha atenta, el humor y la comunicación interpersonal. Se establece que el tacto es un modo adecuado para que padres e hijos establezcan relaciones. Junto al tacto, se indica que la escucha atenta es otro ingrediente importante de la educación en valores. El diálogo y el humor, por su parte, se convierten en elementos dinámicos de las relaciones interpersonales. Por último, la comunicación interpersonal se desenvuelve en relatos personales entre padres e hijos en la vida familiar.

With the rise of digital platforms, traditional mass media such as radio, television and cinema begin to offer narratives and genres to the audience that they have not experienced before, it seems inevitable due to changing daily practices and increasing competitive environment. Although Jenkins' thoughts on converging media shape the
commercial and marketing strategies of the media industry, the question of how digital storytelling is handled in television broadcasting is worth investigating considering both the historical background of television and its audience profile. As a
matter of fact, with the development of technology, television series, which are an important element of traditional broadcasting, have begun to review their own narrative codes. In this paper, Modern Family: Connection Lost episode was examined in context of digital storytelling, screenlife technique and convergence culture. While the characters who are spatially far away from each other or in the same house communicate with each other only through network-based devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones, the dynamic nature of daily life is emphasized, while the use of secondary screens as the primary screen shows that the boundaries between the narrative and the medium have begun to collapse. As a result, it has been determined that a network-based digital narrative is established through digital tools. Thus, the narrative codes of traditional broadcasting such as camera angles, camera position, composition, mise-en-scene, rhythm and editing that we are accustomed to from television screens are broken in this episode.

En este artículo se presenta una aproximación teórica a las miradas postestructuralistas sobre el Trabajo Social. En concreto, se analiza el lugar que Michel Foucault y Jacques Donzelot conceden al Trabajo Social en el conjunto de transformaciones de las estrategias de poder de los últimos tres siglos. En el centro de la argumentación tienen especial protagonismo el desarrollo de la biopolítica, la constitución de las familias nucleares en las clases populares, la emergencia de lo social y su reciente devenir en lo social competitivo. Se extrae de la indagación teórica y bibliográfica que, para estos autores, el trabajo social constituye un conjunto de prácticas que cumplen la función social de vigilancia-corrección, en especial sobre los sujetos agrupados en categorías de grupos vulnerables. Se aporta una perspectiva crítica e histórica de la intervención social profesional, entendida como fuerza normalizadora, que lleva los discursos higienistas, familiaristas y psicológicos hacia las clases po-pulares. El trabajo social se inserta en la regulación de las familias modernas, la crianza de los hijos y la expan-sión de las políticas sociales, y en este sentido, desempeña un rol crucial en la gestión del conflicto social.


This article presents a theoretical approach to poststructuralist perspectives on social work. Specifically, it analyses the space granted to social work by Michael Foucault and Jacques Donzelot in the series of transformations of power strategies of the last three centuries. The development of biopolitics, the creation of nuclear families in the working class, the emergence of society and its recent transformation into competitive society play a particular role at the centre of the argument. Investigation of these authors' theories and literature reveals their view that social work constitutes a collection of practices that fulfil the social function of oversight-correction, particularly with regard to subjects in vulnerable group categories. A critical and historical perspective of professional social intervention is advanced. It is interpreted as a normalizing force, which provides the working classes with access to discourses regarding health, family and psychology. Social work forms part of the regulation of modern families, the upbringing of children and the expansion of social policies, and in this regard, it plays a crucial role in the management of social conflict.

Nossa abordagem propõe explicitar de que forma a remediação e a intermidialidade são usadas para produzir comicidade nas narrativas. A análise também aponta como cada programa se apropria da remediação da forma mais adequada a sua história e ao seu enredo, revelando diferentes mecanismos da assimilação das formas expressivas remediadas.
