After a string of high-profile relationships, including an engagement to musician Alex Greenwald, Brie Larson is keeping her new relationship, with fine artist Benjamin Lederach Styer, out of the Hollywood spotlight.
The two were first linked earlier year, when they were spotted on a night out with friends. Ahead, everything we know about Styer.
He is a painter.
While he may not be an actor like his famous girlfriend, Styer is also into the arts. He is a painter known for his intricate, fantastical, colorful works that often lean into surrealism and abstraction. Some of his pieces have even been made into Kinstler puzzles. Check out his website here.
He’s also a musician—at heart.
The painter has a passion for music, and has said he incorporates that into all of his artworks.
“Yes, composition and songwriting. In Mondegreen Codex, and all of my art, there’s the presence of music. It’s something tangled up in my head always,” he said in an interview with Kinstler. “I feel like I want to be making music. That’s part of my process in painting– wishing there was an alchemy involved where it could be music instead. I don’t know if I technically have synesthesia, but I do have visual impulses to music that I follow in my painting process. The two are wrapped up in a mystery I like to pretend is solvable in my art.”
He started dating Brie this year.
The two were first seen out together in January. Daily Mail published photos of them at Pasadena Playhouse, in Pasadena, California, with friends, where they reportedly went to see Kate Berlant’s performance. Per the outlet, Larson and Styer kissed and got into a car together once the night ended.
