The teacher may ask students to keep their voice down while working in group and focus
on their task;
The teacher may repeat or rephrase the task so that all students will understand it; if
students still do not understand the oral commands or the tasks, these will be translated
into Romanian for them.
Feedback:
Both teacher and students provide continuous feed back through observation. The teacher
checks that the students complete the tasks entirely and correctly at any stage of the lesson, she
gives extra explanations whenever necessary.
WARM-UP
Aims:
To revise the plural of nouns;
To revise quantifiers much/many/a lot of
Procedure: Teacher shows students flashcards again. This time students say plural words to
describe the pictures. Teacher asks students to write the words on the blackboard: singular and
plural form of nouns.
Teacher reminds students: much/many/a lot of.
Teacher asks students to do exercise 5, page 44. Students are asked to choose the correct
quantifier: much/many/a lot of.
Teacher uses peer correction, whenever possible.

PRACTICE
Activity 4, Eating habits
Aim: To practise grammar in meaningful contexts.
Procedure: Teacher gives students worksheets and asks them about their eating habits. Students
answer the teachers questions.

Activity 5, Eating habits worldwide
Aim: To consolidate vocabulary
Procedure: Teacher pins on blackboard a poster with 2 columns: food country; students will be
asked to match the words on the two columns after listening to a song, in order to find out how to
do it.
Teacher plays CD and asks students to match the columns; then students listen to the song again
and they sing along.

PRODUCTION
Activity 6, My zany food project
Aims: To reinforce vocabulary and use it in meaningful contexts
Procedure: Students are arranged in four-member groups. Each group designates a leader who
goes to the teacher and picks up a note: a list of ingredients along with instructions about what to
do next. Students go to the food stand in front of the class, read their list and take the ingredients
they need. Then students go back to their groups and use the ingredients according to the
instructions on their notes. The first group that accomplish their task are the the winners.

Materials: notes, plates, food.
Class management: group-work.
Timing: 15 minutes
Activity 7, Evaluating and assigning homework
Teacher makes remarks on students activity during the English class and marks some students
with grades.
Teacher announces homework: exercise 6, page 45; they have to answer questions about
food around the world.
