Curriculum Development
This three-unit lecture course is intended to introduce the education students to effective curriculum design and
assessment. The course topics include curriculum models, principles and approaches in designing, delivering and
addressing the curriculum.

3 units (3 lecture hours/week)
1. Discuss the essential concepts, nature as well as various meanings, types, foundations and approaches of
curriculum.
2. Explain how curriculum is crafted as well as explain the roles of teachers in crafting the curriculum.
3. Discuss how to assess a curriculum.
4. Research and discuss major curriculum development reforms and enhancement with emphasis in The Enhanced
Basic Education Act of 2013 and Outcomes Based Education
