GENERAL
INFORMATION
• We offered the car in three versions:
• The basic Tata Nano Std - at 123,000 Rs.
• The CX - at 151,000 Rs.
• The LX. – at 172,000 Rs.

• The CX and LX versions each have air conditioning, power


windows, and central locking

• The Nano's trunk does not open. Instead, the rear seats can be folded
down to access the boot.
• single windscreen wiper instead of the usual pair.
• no power steering.
• only three lug nuts on the wheels instead of the usual four.
• The base model has only one side view mirror.
• Some use of plastic and glue in place of welded steel.
• Manually operated side windows.
• Air conditioning/heating not part of base model .
• Airbags not part of base model.

COST CUTTING FEATURES


• The Nano has an all sheet-metal body made from Japanese and Korean
steel,

- light glass bonded to the body.

CURRENT SAFETY FEATURES


• In March 2010 a Tata Nano caught fire Satish Sawant’s home at
Mumbai.
• On April 7, 2010, another Tata Nano caught fire near Vadodara, Gujarat.
• "One vehicle from a fleet of cars that was being transported to the
dealer’s showroom caught fire on the way.
• Additionally, there have been three cases where Nano's steering wheel
assembly caught fire.

CASES OF SMOKE & FIRE


For technical faults:
- cause of the fire was the faulty electric switch in the

steering column.
CORRECTION:
- replacement of the original supplier of the fire retardant

material as well as the steering column

RECOMMENDATIONS
• For promotional strategy
- promotion on the basis of low-cost & eco-friendly car.
- not considered as a safe car.
Corrections:
- promote as a safe car
