Our staff is continuing to further embed our schools Professional Learning journey during 2013. The central practices underpinning this journey include an intense focus on very targeted learning, heightened collaboration amongst teachers at each level, as well as the close tracking of students to ensure their successful progression. Our school operates with professional learning teams, whose planning meetings now exclusively focus on four critical questions: What is it we expect our students to learn? How will we know when they have learned it? How will we respond when they dont learn? How will we respond when they already know it? This year we have trialled new approaches for providing intervention and extension opportunities for our students as a key component of our journey. We now have four trained teachers who are facilitating VCOP across the school to ensure that all students achieve valued added performance in writing. Our focus is transforming many of our practices across the school, and this year will provide us with valuable time to continue this important work.

Congratulations to the following students who have received a Scholarship from Dromana Secondary College. James Read Laptop Scholarship Caylem Gaskin Laptop Scholarship Liam Porter General Excellence Scholarship This is a terrific achievement for the students and our school. Well done!!

On Wednesday the girls football team played 5 teams from all over the Peninsula. We had been training really hard and this showed as we won every game. Our strongest points throughout the games were our tackling, goal kicking and sportsmanship. We got to the grand final and we won against Rosebud. We will now be able to compete against the big schools.

The grade 5/6 Boys Netball on Wednesday was a fantastic! Our A team played so well but unfortunately they didn't make the final. Our B team were undefeated, winning the grand final by only one goal! Congratulations to all the boys that competed!
