The document criticizes works made in America that are inspired by other lands, calling them "poison" to the United States. It questions how small "insects" like themselves dare to write poems for America and its victorious armies. The writing calls for piety, conformity, peace, and allegiance to be replaced with challenging people to leap from their seats and contend for their lives.

I am he who tauntingly compels men, women, nations, Crying, Leap from your seats, and contend for your lives!
I Pledge Allegiance To The Flag, of The United States of America, and To The Republic, For Which It Stands,, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice For All!
