    Title: Mentoring Colleagues on Journalistic Writing

    The Campus Journalism Act of 1991 seeks to “uphold and protect the freedom
    of the press even at the campus level,” as stated in the law’s Section 2 (Declaration
    of Policy). The law also aims to “promote the development and growth of campus
    journalism as a means of strengthening ethical values, encouraging critical and
    creative thinking, and developing moral character and personal discipline of the
    Short Background Filipino youth (Sec. 2).”
    and Rationale School papers, like newspapers have a special mission, a right and
    (Basis/ Reference)
    responsibility to disseminate news in their respective campus-communities
    while also entertaining and educating readers and presenting issues for
    their reflection.

    1. Discuss ethical standards in campus journalism.


    2. Discuss the art of photo journalism.
    Objectives:
    3. Present theories and techniques of editorial, feature, sports writing and
    photo journalism and other important aspects of journalism.
    4. Illustrate acceptable style and design of an ideal school paper
