Please note: As part of the Fairchild Semiconductor integration, some of the Fairchild orderable part numbers
will need to change in order to meet ON Semiconductor’s system requirements. Since the ON Semiconductor
product management systems do not have the ability to manage part nomenclature that utilizes an underscore
(_), the underscore (_) in the Fairchild part numbers will be changed to a dash (-). This document may contain
device numbers with an underscore (_). Please check the ON Semiconductor website to verify the updated
device numbers. The most current and up-to-date ordering information can be found at www.onsemi.com. Please
email any questions regarding the system integration to Fairchild_questions@onsemi.com.

KA7500C
SMPS Controller

Features Description
ƒ Internal Regulator Provides a Stable 5V Reference The KA7500C is used for the control circuit of the pulse-
Supply Trimmed to ±1% Accuracy width modulation switching regulator. The KA7500C
consists of 5V reference voltage circuit, two error
ƒ Uncommitted Output TR for 200mA Sink or Source amplifiers, flip flop, an output control circuit, a PWM
Current comparator, a dead-time comparator, and an oscillator.
ƒ Output Control for Push-Pull or Single-Ended This device can be operated in the switching frequency
Operation of 1kHz to 300kHz. The precision of voltage reference
ƒ Variable Duty Cycle by Dead-Time Control (Pin 4) (VREF) is improved up to ±1% with trimming. This
Complete PWM Control Circuit provides a better output voltage regulation. The
operating temperature range is -25°C ~ +85°C.
