2300 – 2330 MHz BAND
In year 2017, spectrum auction of 2.3 GHz band (1 block of 30 MHz) followed by 2.1 GHz (2 blocks @5 MHz)
was held to fulfill the increasing demand of spectrum of mobile operators, due to the followings:
➢ network congestion
➢ needs of high speed connection
➢ demand of a good quality of cellular service

COORDINATION OF 2.3 GHz WITH NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES
* Trilateral: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore coordination meeting
Background ** JCC: Indonesia and Malaysia coordination meeting

NO DATE INFORMATION
1 15 Dec 2014 PT. Smart Telecom started to deploy the TDD-LTE 2300 MHz.

The meeting agreed that the coordination distance of 13 km is to be

maintained and this is applicable for LTE deployment in 2.3 GHz band

Malaysia and Singapore currently did not regulate the TDD

synchronization between their operators yet.
3 5 Oct 2017 15th Trilateral
The Meeting took note on the updates and members agreed to provide
additional information at next Trilateral meeting.

COORDINATION OF 2.3 GHz WITH NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES

• Difference TDD frame configuration will potentially causes interference to the networks.
Existing Configuration ITU-Rec Configuration

• Invite the meeting to modify TDD configuration to configuration 2 (config 2) without time offset
• MCI recognized that in October 1st 2019, the mobile operators from Malaysia and Singapore
already completed configuring the TDD scheme configuration in 2.3 GHz band into Config 2 (time
offset 0). www.kominfo.go.id @kemkominfo

COORDINATION OF 2.3 GHz WITH NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES

• After the alignment of TDD frame configuration between neighboring countries, the potential
of interference cases is minimized in border areas.
