Duration: 26 Weeks WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN Power Sector is continuously expanding sector. The amendment in the Indian Electricity Act, have opened private sector participation in the Transmission & Distribution of Power. It has further created a large demand for the trained persons in Electrical Utilities. The main objective of the course is to create a technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the power companies in the area of Transmission & Distribution of Electrical Power. This is an Employment Oriented Program for those who desire to make a career in the power sector. On successfully undergoing this course the Graduate Engineers will find immense opportunities and preference in employment with various power companies. ABOUT THE COURSE: This is a unique course of 26 weeks duration which will be conducted by Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) at Bangalore under NPTI. The course content covers complete operation and maintenance of Power Transmission & Distribution Systems, as per the syllabus of Indian Electricity Act (Rule-3) for Transmission & Distribution. PLACEMENT: The previous batch trainees got placement in NDPL, L&T, BSES Rajdhani Power, Easun Reyrolle, Reliance Energy , KEC international for Overseas and Domestic jobs, Suzlon Power, Jyoti Structures, Kalapataru Power limited , Switchgear & Control etc. companies. There was 100% Placements in the previous batches. ELIGIBILITY: Bachelor of engineering or equivalent in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics and Power engineering. AGE LIMIT : Maximum age limit as on 01 / 12/ 2007 is 27 years. No age limit for sponsored candidates. SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Percentage of marks obtained in the B.E. or equivalent examination as per University norms. NO. OF SEATS : 60 (Sixty only). Reservation for SC, ST etc will be as per Govt. norms. ABOUT NPTI, BANGALORE


National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Bangalore, formerly known as Power Systems Training Institute, was established in the year 1972. During the last 36 years, the Institute has trained many power sector personnel in the area of Transmission & Distribution of Power, who are manning the various important positions in Power Sector of the Country. The Institute is located on the Subramanyapura Road, 9th Main Road End, Opposite to Yarab Nagar, Banashankari second stage, behind Banashankari Temple, in the southern part of Green City, Bangalore. It has a self-contained complex with hostels, Institute and all infrastructural facilities. The Institute is also equipped with Power System Training Simulator, the first simulator of this type in the Country and also Hot Line Training Centre for maintenance training of High Voltage transmission lines. The Institute has experienced Faculty, Trainers, Laboratories, etc. WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN ? This is a unique course of 26 Weeks duration, which will be conducted by NPTI Institute at Bangalore, formerly known as Power System Training Institute (PSTI). The course content covers complete operation & maintenance of Power Transmission & distribution system, incorporating the recommendations of the Committee formed to prepare the syllabus to form part of the Electricity Act (Rule-3) to make training statutory in Transmission & Distribution, which is likely to be implemented shortly, in which case it will be added advantage for employment. The training methodologies include Lectures, Laboratory Sessions, Video Sessions, Group Discussions, Technical Visits and On-Job Training.

INFORMATION FOR THE CANDIDATES:


WHO CAN APPLY a) The candidates who have obtained Bachelor of Engineering/ B.Sc. (Engg.)/A.M.I.E. or equivalent degree in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics or Power Engineering will be considered. Graduate Engineers sponsored by State Electricity Boards/ Power Utilities and Private Companies.

HOW TO REACH THE INSTITUTE: The Institute is about 10 KMs away from Bangalore City Railway Station/Bangalore City Bus Stand and 20 KMs from Bangalore Air Port. Pre-paid Autorikshaw services are available from Bangalore City Railway Station. City buses also ply via Yarab Nagar bus stop (bus route Nos. 15C, 15E, 15H, 210A, 210R and 210P from Bangalore City Bus Station). Pre paid taxis or autos are also available from the Airport/Railway Station. SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION a) The admission to this Program will be done on the basis of Merit (% of marks) obtained at qualifying examination.

b)

Candidates who are sponsored by the organizations/employers will be directly admitted, if they fulfill the eligibility criteria i.e. Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics or Power Engineering. Reservation for SC/ST candidates shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION The above course fee does not include the Lodging/Boarding charges. However, non-family sharing type accommodation shall be provided to the candidates at the Institute campus @ Rs. 1500/- per month.

Boarding facility is available at the Institute. Boarding charges are to be borne by the participants/sponsoring organizations. The charges are to be borne on monthly basis. GENERAL 1. Security Deposit: An amount of Rs. 3000/- as Security Money (Refundable) for Library, Hostel, stores, etc. will be deposited by the student at the time of joining the Institute. 2. Hostel Rent: The six months hostel rent of Rs. 9000/- is payable in advance at the time of hostel allotment. 3. Conveyance/Internet surfing Charges: Conveyance charges @ Rs. 3000/- for On-job training /Plant visits /Internet surfing shall be payable at the time of joining the Institute. 4. Refund: In case a selected candidate withdraws from the program for any reason, no part of course fees will be refunded except refundable deposit. 5. Late Fee: If a candidate fails to deposit any installment of course fee by the due date, late fee @ Rs. 100/- per week will be chargeable from the due date. IMPORTANT DATES:
