NARRATIVE REPORT
CATCH-UP FRIDAY

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 001, s. 2024, on the Implementation of

Catch-Up Fridays, Luakan National High School-Annex conducted a special approach
on Catch-up Friday. It is a learning mechanism intended to strengthen foundational,
social, and other relevant skills necessary to realize the objectives of the basic
education curriculum.

With the program, the Reading Coordinator, attended the district orientation
of Catch-Up Friday via Zoom Meeting. Teachers in Luakan National High School-
Annex were also oriented during INSET by the Reading Coordinator. A Budget of
work for Catch-Up Friday were made by Grade Level Department.

January 12, 2024, this is the first day of the implementation of Catch-Up
Friday. All Fridays of January were only dedicated for Drop Everything and Read
program (DEAR). This strategy is a personalized plan for the day to accommodate
students’ interest and to focus the joy of reading.

On the month February, the activities facilitated by the teachers were based
on the Budget of Work made. As aligned with the memorandum, the first half of
Friday is for reading while the second half is for Peace Education, Values Education,
Health, and Homeroom Guidance. For reading, teachers prepared reading materials
and various activities for students.

Regular feedback sessions with teachers helped identify successful practices

and areas for improvement, ensuring an ongoing commitment to making future
Catch-Up Fridays even more effective.
