ELECTRICAL TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

1.0 GENERAL

This section covers the furnishing, delivery and installation of the complete Electrical Work,
at the subject premises and all work materials required to the proper completion of the
installation, except those portions of the work which are expressly stated to be done by
others. All works shall be in accordance with the specifications, and the governing Codes and
Regulations. The specifications are intended to provide a broad outline of the required
equipment, but are not intended to include all details of design and Construction.

1.1 SCOPE OF THE WORK

A. This section consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment, services and to
perform all the work necessary for the complete execution of all the Electrical Work
described below and/or as indicated in the Electrical Drawings.

B. Scope of Work shall include but not be limited to the following principal items of
work:

a. Furnishing and installing a service entrance complete with conduits, conductors


and other accessories from a point indicated in the plans up to the main load
center.

b. Furnish and install all civil works items related to the electrical installation.

c. Furnishing and installing all panels, safety switches and all necessary main and
branch circuit breakers at the various load centers with the corresponding ratings
as indicated in the plans.

d. Furnishing and installing all necessary feeders and branch circuit, conductors,
conduits and accessories as indicated in the electrical plans.

e. Furnishing and installing all necessary pull boxes, junction boxes, utility boxes
as required and/or as indicated in the plan.

f. Furnishing and installing all necessary utilization on outlets and wall switches
complete with their proper cover plates.

g. Furnish and install complete grounding and lightning protection system including
ground rod, air terminals, grounding wires, conduits, fittings, wiring accessories
and terminations.

h. Painting of all exposed electrical conduits, enclosures and equipment.

i. Complete testing and commissioning of all supplied equipment and installed


electrical system.

Application of electrical power service connections including preparation of all necessary


plans, forms and related documents, payment of government fees and charges, and

coordination with power company and other authorities or persons involved in the
procedures.

1.2 CODES AND REGULATIONS

All work hereunder shall comply with the latest Philippine Electrical Code, the implementing
rules and regulations of National Building Code and other governing authorities assigned
with Republic Act 184 as applied or enforced in the locality.

1.3 LOCATION OF WIRING AND OUTLETS

The location of equipment shown on wiring plans shall be considered as approximate and it
shall be incumbent upon the Contractor to study all pertinent drawings and obtain precise
information from the architectural schedules, scale drawings, and full size details of finished
rooms, approved shop drawings of other parties involved or from the Engineer before
installation of outlet boxes. It shall be understood that any outlet may be relocated a distance
not exceeding 4.5 m from the location shown on the drawings, if so directed by the Engineer.
Contractor shall make any necessary adjustment of his work to fit conditions for recessed
fixtures and for outlets occurring in glazed tile, block terra cotta, marble, wood paneling and
other special finish materials, in order that all boxes may register flush with finish and shall
be centered properly. In centering outlets, due allowance shall be made for overhead piping,
ducts, windows and doors, trim variations of thickness of furring, plastering, etc., as erected
regardless of conditions which may be otherwise shown on small scale drawings. Outlets
incorrectly located shall be properly located at the contractor's expense. Local switches
which are shown near doors shall be located at the strike side of the doors as finally hung,
regardless of swing shown on the drawings. Coaxial cable shall not be placed in any raceway,
compartment, outlet box, junction box, or other enclosures with conductors of electric light
or power circuits.

All mounting heights shall be as follow:

a. lighting switches -- 1.40m above floor finish


b. convenience outlet -- 0.30m above floor finish
c. panelboard -- 1.40m above floor finish
line at center or as
required

1.4 MATERIALS

All materials to be installed shall be new and approved types of the location and purpose and
shall conform to the provisions of the latest edition of the Philippine Electrical Code

1.5 WORKMANSHIP

Only skilled workmen using proper tools and equipment shall be employed during the entire
installation work. All workmanship shall be of the best practice of the trade involved.

1.6 INSTALLATION

A. All electrical installation shall be done in accordance with the approved plans and
under the direct supervision and control of a Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer or
Master Electrician.

B. The type of electrical services to be supplied to the house shall be 230V, AC,
Single- phase, 2-wires + Ground, 60 Hz. in Intermediate Metal Conduit (IMC) for service
entrance and Polyvinyl Chloride Conduit (uPVC) for walls and ceiling for lighting and
power.

C. Minimum size of wire and conduit shall be no. 3.5 mm 2 THW wire and 15mm(dia.)
conduit respectively.

D. Convenience outlet and lighting switches shall be rated at 15A, 240V, and 10A,
240V respectively.

E. All branch circuit shall not be loaded more than 80% of rated capacity.

F. The panel shall be provided with a circuit directory.

G. The spare circuit shall be provided with empty PVC pipes. The grounding shall be
identified and all wires shall be color coded for easy identification.
