Open ended Questions

17. What did you like about the internship/student-teaching program?

I have found many enjoyable aspects of my internship or student teaching programme. Firstly, I particularly enjoyed
preparing various activities and games for my students. Not only did this give me the opportunity to create fun learning
experiences, but I was also able to observe the positive reactions and engagement of the students, and this interaction
gave me a great sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.
Secondly, I was also impressed by the various activities organised by the school. For example, the camping trips and field
trips organised by the school not only provided students with a learning environment different from that of the
classroom, but also fostered their teamwork and spirit of exploration. These activities were not only exciting for the
students, but also gave me an unforgettable experience that allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the
students' needs and interests.

In addition, events such as the International Festival and Science Festival organised by the school were also part of my
favourite events. These events not only provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills, but also
promote cross-cultural exchange and opportunities for scientific exploration. Participation in these events not only gives
students a broader perspective, but also provides useful support for their overall literacy and holistic development.

18. What do you think needs to improve?

I have also identified some areas for improvement in my internship or student teaching programme. Firstly, I realised
that I still need to work on my classroom management. I found that I sometimes had difficulty in controlling the
classroom order effectively, resulting in the learning atmosphere being affected to a certain extent. Therefore, I plan to
enhance my knowledge and improve my classroom management skills to ensure that students can have better learning
outcomes in a good learning environment.

Secondly, I think I need to improve my English language skills. Although I am able to communicate in basic English, I
realise that my ability to express myself and my language skills still need to be improved. A good command of English
will not only help me to communicate better with international students and parents, but will also lay a solid foundation
for my future career in education. Therefore, I plan to actively participate in English training courses to improve my
listening, speaking, reading and writing skills so that I can be better equipped for my future teaching job.

Also, I realise that I need to be more innovative and design my teaching. The field of education is ever-changing and so
are the learning styles and needs of students. Therefore, I need to keep learning and exploring new teaching methods
and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. I plan to attend relevant educational training and seminars and
actively share my experience with my peers to continuously improve my teaching.
