SECTOR : CONSTRUCTION (CIVIL WORKS)


QUALIFICATION TITLE : CARPENTRY NCII

UNIT OF COMPETENCY : FABRICATE, INSTALL AND REMOVE WOODEN FORWORKS


MODULE TITLE : FABRICATING, INSTALLING AND REMOVING WOODEN FORWORKS.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

LO1 Prepare materials, tools and equipment


LO2 Lay-out and cut dimension of form sheathing and stiffeners
LO3 Assemble and erect form panels and components
LO4 Erect wooden scaffolds
LO5 Strip form panels and dismantle scaffold
LO6 Clean and store reusable form panels and components

A. INTRODUCTION: This session covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes in lay-out an cut dimension of form
sheathing and stiffeners. It includes preparing materials, tools and equipment, assemble and erect form panels and
components, erect wooden scaffolds, strips form panels and dismantle scaffold and clean and store reusable form
panels and components.
B. LEARNING ACTIVITIES: The trainees will be exposed to multi-learning activities that will provide quality
learning knowledge and skills required by CARPENTRY NC II such as; theoretical discussions, practical and actual
demonstration, video presentations and several assessment methods.

LO1 Prepare materials, tools and equipment

Learning Objectives:
 Use personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with rule 1080 of OSH standard
 Secure and follow list of material, hand tools and equipment according to job requirements
 Select, inspect and prepare materials, tools and equipment consistent with job requirements
 Clean work area according to safety and environmental regulations (e.g. PD 1152 SECTION 6,8& 42)
 Complete required output as specified by the immediate supervise base on schedule.

LO2 Lay-out and cut sheathing and stiffeners


Learning Objectives:

 Lay and cut form sheathing and stiffeners according to job requirements

LO3. Assemble and erect form panels and components


Learning Objectives:
 Use personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with rule 1080 0f OSH standards.
 Position and fix sheathing to stiffeners
 Check assemble form panels for squareness, levelness, plumbness and alignment
 Positon and fix primary and secondary support to hold assemble form panels as per drawing
 Check assemble form panel for compliance with job requirements
 Clean work area according to safety and environmental regulations (e.g. PD 1152 Section 6, 8 & 42)
 Complete required output as specified by the immediate supervisor based on work schedule.

LO4 Erect wooden scaffolds

Learning Objectives:

 Prepare, place, space soleplates/timber planks accordingly considering ground surface condition based on
design requirement
 Erect, plumb and level wooden scaffold components based on design requirements
 Check wooden scaffolds system based on design requirements
 Install lifeline for fall protection devices (harness) in accordance with specification and OSHS requirements
 Clean work area according to safety and environmental regulations (e.g. PD 1152 Section 6, 8 & 42)
