Assignment Title Entrepreneurship: A Transformational Analysis

Submission Format
The submission is in the form of a Research Analysis Report comprising of
three sections: Conceptual Framework, Assessment Framework and
Transformational Framework.

In order to write the report, you are required to consider the following points.

 Cover page must be attached at the start of the assignment.


 The report must include a table of contents.
 Make use of headings, paragraphs, and subsections as appropriate.
 All work must be supported with research and valid and current
references using the Harvard referencing system.
 You are also required to provide a bibliography or reference list using
the Harvard referencing system.
 The Word count for Task 1 is 1500 words, 1000 words for Task 2 and
1000 words for task 3. You can exceed by 10% percent of the total
word limit; however, if you go beyond your grade will be capped.
 Similarity report must not exceed 20 percent limit. If it goes beyond 20
percent, your grade will be capped.

Transferable skills and competencies developed


 Students will develop critical thinking skills by analysing various business
models, identifying market opportunities, and assess potential risks and
challenges.
 Students will need to articulate their understanding of innovative thinking,
risk-taking, and adaptability.
 Developing strong communication skills will also help in conveying their
ideas and strategies to potential investors, partners, and customers.
Vocational scenario
Amy is a young entrepreneur who has recently launched a sustainable fashion
brand. She sources ethically produced materials and employs local artisans to
create her unique clothing line. Amy is passionate about making a positive social
and environmental impact through her business. However, she faces several
challenges, including limited resources, intense competition, and the need to
educate consumers about the value of sustainable fashion.

You have been hired as research analyst. As a research analyst, your main
responsibility is to gather preliminary information and submit a detailed
research report. Your task is to conduct research encompassing several key
areas, including exploring different typologies in entrepreneurship, investigating
the entrepreneurial mindset and character traits, understanding the process of
idea generation for startups, examining support networks available in Pakistan,
assessing the impact of small businesses on the economy, and delving into the
concept of intrapreneurship within the corporate sector.

Assignment activity and guidance


In order to complete the assignments, the students are required to submit a
detailed Research Analysis Report. The report will comprise of three tasks.

TASK 1 - (LO1 & LO2) – Conceptual Framework


In the first section you are required to do the following.
 Explain the different types of entrepreneurial ventures.
 For each type, explain the aim of existence, size, legal structure,
outcomes, methods of capital generation and the availability of different
types of investors.
 Explain essential characteristics required for each type.
 Explain & analyse the similarities and differences between the mentioned
entrepreneurial ventures.
In the above scenario, analyse how a new entrepreneurial venture can adopt a
mindset that can help it overcome the challenges it faces and achieve success.
Provide recommendations for Amy’s sustainable fashion brand considering the
following aspects.
 How does Amy's passion for sustainability contribute to her
entrepreneurial mindset?
 What entrepreneurial traits and skills does Amy need to effectively
address the challenges she encounters?
 How can Amy's resilience and adaptability as an entrepreneur help her
navigate the competitive fashion industry and build a loyal customer
base?
 Explain how Amy's innovative thinking and creativity can help her
differentiate her brand and attract environmentally conscious consumers.
 Evaluate the role of continuous learning and staying updated on industry
trends in Amy's entrepreneurial journey.
 Analyse how Amy's vision for creating a positive social and environmental
impact aligns with her long-term goals and how it can drive her business
growth and sustainability.
 At the end you will critically analyse the traits, characteristics, and skills
of the owners of each selected venture.
TASK-2 (LO3) – Assessment Framework
This section aims to examine the influence of small entrepreneurial ventures on
the economy of a country. The focus will be on analysing the impact of these
ventures in Pakistan and/or other countries, with particular emphasis on the
selected industries SME’s.
For this purpose the students will choose two companies, One Local (SME) & one
international (Large Scale Organization) from the same industry. To evaluate the
following.
 Explore the economic implications of the chosen SME, keeping in view the
current economic situation of Pakistan.
 Interpret relevant data and statistics from the chosen SME’s to relate how
micro and small business ventures impact the economy at different levels
 Using relevant data and statistics, compare the differences between the
chosen small and large organizations.
 Relect on the impact of the chosen companies on the economy with the
help of relevant data.

TASK - 3 (LO4) – Transformational Framework


In last section, you will explore the significance of theoretical shift from
entrepreneurship to intrapreneurship in a country like Pakistan. It is crucial to
address this aspect as large corporations have recently shown a growing
inclination towards incorporating the flexibility and idea generation of small
enterprises within their organizations. To begin, you are required to do the
following.
 Provide a clear definition of the concept of intrapreneurship.
 Highlight the distinctions between public and corporate intrapreneurship.
 How this approach contributes to the creation and sustenance of
competitive advantage within industries, supported by relevant examples.
 Finally, evaluate the benefits of intrapreneurship and explore how large
organizations can leverage it to serve their own interests.
TASK 4 – Presentation
The students are required to give a final presentation based of their research
provided in Task 1 & Task 2.
For Task 4, the presentation should include the following points.
• It is an individual presentation based on Task 1 &Task II.
• Make effective use of PowerPoint headings, bullet points and subsections
as appropriate.
• The presentation should be no more than 20 slides (excluding cover slide
and bibliography/reference list).
• Your grade will be capped for going under or exceeding the total slides
limit.
• Formal dressing
