 Use O-lube on relevant subsea  Transducer cables connect to the single-head
connectors. transducer in the void that exists underneath
the pole clamps.

 Fit the pole clamps to the bottom shaft


before securing to the T-plate.

installation manual) before deploying the
over-side mount.

Installation – Pre-deployment test
Before deploying the system:

 Test Signal check: Is Rx (electronics) OK?


 Side Scan Rub test: Is Rx (transducer and cables) OK?
 Transmit check: Is Tx (everything) OK?
 MRU check: Is MRU working and fully settled?
 Mini-SVS check: Is MRU working?
 Echo-sounder check: Is ES working?
(if applicable)

Installation: General Advice
 Ensure you have everything (review the checklist).
 Choose suitable location for installing the OSM (beware of thrusters).
 Use a generator or good quality “Pure Sinewave” inverter,
 Avoid cheaper stepped/square sinewave inverters.
 Reduce interference by connecting both the generator and Deck Unit to
vessel earth
 Ensure the generator fuel tank is full and you have spare fuel.
 Ensure SVP batteries have adequate voltage.
 Highly advisable to perform the pre-deployment test before deploying
the over-side mount.
 For best results mount the MRU on the T-plate and NAV antennas on-
top of the OSM pole.
 Ensure offsets measured as accurately as possible.
 Ensure everything is secured tight.
