PURPOSE
• To establish procedure for identifying training needs and to import training to all
personnel.
• To import specific work-related training to concerned employees.
• To make them understand their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance with
all certification applied to the mill including emergency preparedness and response
requirements.

SCOPE
• Applicable to all employees & contractors of Melangking Palm Oil Mill.
• Applicable to all type of training including all certification requirement that applied to
Melangking Palm Oil Mill.

PROCEDURES
1. New employees will undergo training, including Induction Program prior to working.
2. All employees are given training based on their workstation which includes basic Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP). GMP training are given to ensure that all operators at all
level understand the importance and benefit of implementing GMP which are control
factors that affect the processing operation.
3. Planned trainings are conducted based on Annual Training Plan. These trainings may be
conducted by internal or external party depending on training to be conducted.
a. On a yearly basis, the management shall issue the schedule of training.
b. All the external and internal training shall be approved by the Mill Manager.
c. All the training should be conducted as per scheduled.
d. The executives shall coordinate the training.
e. Upon completion of all internal trainings, the trainee and the immediate superior
shall evaluate the effectiveness of the training; to determine if the stated objectives
have been met using the Training Evaluation Form. If training is not adequate,
further training shall be arranged.

4. Unplanned training is conducted based on observation from Section Head or Executives


where it deems fit. The training request form shall be sent to Mill Controller for approval.
5. Training records for the operation personnel shall be conducted whenever one of these
situations exists:
a. New employee joins the organization
b. Transfer or promotion of personnel
c. Change in working method
6. Refresher training will be conducted for existing personnel to ensure that they remain
aware of all procedures necessary to maintain the efficiency of working condition.
a. All personnel shall be retrained on the areas of SOP at quarterly basis to ensure that
they are aware of their role and responsibility.
b. All Refresher Training shall be recorded in the Training Record and the evaluation
shall be conducted.
7. OH&S awareness training will be conducted to all employees including contractors’
personnel (if necessary). It includes;
a. Introduction to basic safety & OH&S legislation
b. OH&S hazards and associated risks of the activities and services and their behaviour.
c. OH&S benefits to individuals and the society for improved personal performance.
d. Emergency preparedness and their response requirements.
e. Potential consequences of deviations from laid down operating procedures.
8. Job specific skill training prior to starting work on a new job (through morning muster)
The agenda may include (but not limited to);
a. Significant occupational hazards and risks of their work activities and the OH&S
benefits of improved personal performance.
b. Preventive and control measures / technique.
c. Emergency preparedness and response.
9. Competence: competence mapping in terms of education, training and experience shall be
done for all employees who are working in areas classified as having unacceptable OH&S
hazards in the prescribed format. Those performing specific work having unacceptable
OH&S hazards and risks shall be provide with specialized OH&S training.
10. On Job Training (OJT) will be conducted quarterly by each of head department or if there
is new worker assign to that department.
