▰ It is important to understand how to assess the


credibility of the information you come across in
your study and research. In this digital age and
with the emergence of the newest technological
advances, more information is at our fingertips
than ever before, and the amount of
information makes it even harder to determine
which information can be trusted as there are
tons of information we are exposed to whenever
we use print or web sources. Hence, there is a
need to evaluate and verify the reliability and
credibility of the information. 6

sources, pick one example of a fake news or any current
event or issue or topic circulating online and apply the
CRAAP method of evaluating sources. Then post your
evaluation of information online using any of the social
media platforms such as FB or twitter, etc. Your evaluation
must contain all necessary details that are supposed to be
included in the analysis and evaluation of information. 15
