if your disability makes it difficult for you to leave bed to brush your teeth, Colgate makes a product called Wisps that are single use, no-rinse toothbrushes you can use while in bed. They have a bead on the brush that dissolves and acts as toothpaste and can be swallowed. The other end has a toothpick.

Wisconsin tonight also voted on a ballot measure for Voter ID to be added to the states constitution. This would require a form of identification in order to vote in elections. Typically Republicans are in favor of voter ID meanwhile Democrats reject it as it can be a form of voter suppression. However, Wisconsin is a bit different.

Wisconsin overwhelmingly supports voter ID from both parties. However, this may actually benefit Democrats as Wisconsin Dems are typically more engaged and informed voters who in turn will have access to forms of identification to vote and will also advocate for others to sign up for an ID.

Republican leaning voters in Wisconsin may not be all that engaged and informed and typically vote in cycles/waves. They may not have access to an ID when it comes time to vote.

The majority of Wisconsin residents do have an ID so this will not likely change much. Just wanted to highlight that point that different topics and issues may differ from state to state regardless of party affiliation.

Yeah but this could also set a precedent to help push for voter ID laws in more critical states.

A random thought that popped up:

It was actually kind of weird that my parents only ever made rules and set boundaries after me or my sister (usually me) would demonstrate why you shouldn't allow kids to do some thing in the first place. And it was always in the huffy tones of "we THOUGHT you'd be mature enough to manage this but APPARENTLY NOT >:C" and having the thing snatched away.

I'm aware that kids need rules and boundaries but I don't think it's sensible to use "being treated like a child" as a punishment for acting like a child, when you're handling a child.

Paying for the fire department stops neighborhoods from burning down. It prevents suffering.

Paying for health care for all would help our communities. It would prevent suffering.

Get it?

Coworker watching the news at work: “I don’t mean to be funny, but who’s the president; Elon Musk or Donald Trump?”

one of the more bleak things to acknowledge is that if you pirate literally all of your music and then set aside a spotify subscription's worth of money each month to spend on a single pay-what-you-want album, it would almost immediately amount to you supporting those musicians more than streaming does

pirating all of your music and then buying a hat or something four times a year still makes you pull significantly ahead of the person who streams thousands of songs every year. it's not really a fair or good system for anyone

"Anything is fine as long as it's legal" is not the sex positive position you think it is. Anything can be criminalised. Anything can be decriminalised.

In some places it's illegal to consensually choke your boyfriend. In other places marital rape is not a crime. Develop a moral compass instead of expecting your government to tell you what is right and wrong.

Okay, I was not expecting this at all and I have to admit, I have not listened to any music from Chappell Roan before, my fault and that is going to change...but this is hauntingly beautiful and it's beautiful to see so many people come together to do something for not only themselves, but for this video too.

This needs to be shared everywhere really, it really is beautiful.

I know this song well but hadn't listened to it in a few months, and this version just made me cry and made me think about various queer regrets and frustrations I had during the era I grew up in. It means so much to see people come together to sing this.

Democrats did not end up with victories in both Florida House of Representatives special elections but this is not all negative for Democrats at all.

Democrats reduced Trump’s margin of victory that he won in 2024 in FL-1 by 22 points. The House district shifted 22 points to the left despite the loss.

Democrats reduced Trump’s margin of victory from 2024 in FL-6 by 16 points. The House district shifted 16 points to the left.

These two districts are typical GOP strongholds and the massive left shifts should spell trouble for Republicans in the midterms where voter turnout could determine the outcome.

Florida Democrats have work to do. It all starts with showing up and hearing the concerns of the people and listen.
