She glared at Vilgefortz. The audacity of trying to touch her just because he had had the privilege to touch.. no. She would not go there. She knew she was jealous of him and his apparent connection to Tissaia, but she would not give him the satisfaction of breaking in front of him and the others. Tissaia meant more to her than she had ever been willing to admit out loud, but she had admitted to herself how much she loved the woman. How much she was in love with her. And now this dirty little man (she sneered at his disgustingly dirt-speckled fingers as they reached once again for her) tried to tell her, that the woman she loved most, the woman she had not just seen but even spoken to last night, was gone? Dead, even. No, she couldnโt believe it. She wouldnโt believe it.
Almost frantically now, she stood, the chair screeching over the floor and then toppling over from the force. Her Chaos crackled around her even as she tried to calm herself down. Tissaiaโs words about order and control echoed in her ears. No, no, no. The woman could not be gone. She barely noticed how Vilgefortz took a cautious step back from her, holding his hands up as if to placate her. It angered her even more, and before she could think about it, her Chaos surged and threw him against the wall, knocking him unconscious.
She heard a growl emanate around her and only seconds after realised, that she had been the one to growl. She took deep breaths, trying to calm down again. As she did so, she let her mind sift through all the strings of Chaos in her direct vicinity. There were all the members of the Brotherhood, Sabrina and Triss, Rita, she sneered at Vilgefortzโ Chaos and discarded him quickly. Even all the novices.. But no Tissaia. With her heart starting to beat frantically, she expanded her search beyond Aretuza, beyond the immediate area of Thanedd island, but nothing. She could feel herself starting to panic but she needed to keep a clear head if she was to find Tissaia. She would find her because she knew the woman wasnโt dead. She could not be. It was that simple. She would have felt Tissaia fading from this World.
It was finally, on the far reaches of the Continent, the outskirts of.. was that Kovir? - It must be, Yennefer thought. - that she felt a faint glimmer of what used to be Tissaiaโs strand of Chaos. It was.. almost weak. Maybe because she was so far away? But Yennefer couldnโt be sure. Maybe something was wrong. She needed to go and find her. Needed to.
Without another word or even thought transferred to anyone, any of her friends even, she rushed out of Aretuza to a point where sheโd be able to portal from. Not wanting to be easily traced though - somehow that felt important - she hopped in criss-cross motions across the continent. She barely stopped to think about Tissaia, how much she needed to make sure that she was safe and alive. But she wanted - needed - to protect her at all costs, too. Even if it cost her a lot of energy, it would be worth it to keep Tissaia safe.
As she ran around the Continent in such a hurry, she gathered things as she went; healing salves and potions, food and water skins, pelts and sheep wool cloaks. Kovir was cold as far as she knew. Once there, sheโd most likely have to hide and repress her own Chaos to stay off the radar of the Brotherhood - depending, of course, on what she would find there, in what state she would find Tissaia in. She might need to move the both of them to a safer space, after all. She just had a bad feeling about all of it. But, she would find her and bring her to safety. She would. Tissaia was alive, Yennefer could feel it, and she would do everything she could to keep her that way.
