palestinian culture isn't something for you to "consume". buying as many "palestinian themed" things as possible isn't being an ally. please focus on real life decolonization rather than being a performative ally. pay attention whether you are actually appreciating the culture or just consuming it for your own self interest and gain.

and at this point in time instead of buying another $20.00 kuffiyeh online or paying $50 plus s&h for a hoodie of Luffy holding a Palestinian Flag, please consider finding a family on the vetted fundraising list and donate. you will be doing so much more than contributing to cash grabs marketing off a genocide

happy autism acceptance month. this month, regardless if you're abled or disabled, allistic or autistic, try to consider if you really do accept people with autism. all aspects of autism. people who:

  • without volume control
  • talk to themselves or make sounds (seemingly) at random
  • have huge screaming meltdowns
  • stim any way, including smearing body fluids
  • only talk about one subject and will never "move on"
  • stare inappropriately
  • struggle with personal hygiene
  • are unemployed
  • who left education early ("dropped out")
  • has a carer and will always need one
  • don't use mouth words to communicate
  • have comorbid intellectual disability and don't want to separate that from their autism

autism acceptance month can't truly be about acceptance if we don't broaden our understanding of autism and confront our internal biases. these things listen above are normal parts of autism. sometimes very common. there's stigma around them, but that's stigma we can actively fight.

🇺🇸tony's chocolonely chocolate bar recall due to rocks🇺🇸

literally, due to rocks. they got rocks in them

april 2, 2025

Tony’s Chocolonely Inc., a New York, New York Corporation, is voluntarily recalling seven lots of Tony’s brand Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar (6.35oz); and Everything Bar (6.35oz) because the product may contain small stones. The products were distributed nationwide and sold in the United States via retail stores and www.tonyschocolonely.com; distribution of the products began February 7, 2025 and ended March 24, 2025.

emphasis mine.

this recall only affects some lots of the dark almond sea salt bar and the everything bar, due to the rock problem. they were distributed nationwide in stores and on the internet. I included their pictures at the top.

I am not able to format a table for tumblr, so check that recall link for the specific lot codes and expiration dates.

The recall was initiated following 12 reports of consumers finding small stones in the product not filtered during third-party almond harvesting and the almond processing process. All complaints occurred outside of the United States and Canada, and no injuries were reported.

they found rocks after there were 12 reports that said hey. there are rocks in this. this can easily lead to dental problems if someone tries to bite full force on a rock and breaks a tooth or otherwise injures their mouth. dental infections can eventually become life-threatening even in people who are young and otherwise healthy. so it is a good thing nobody apparently ate the rocks yet. or at least, nobody got injured while potentially eating rocks. yet

If you have purchased one of the affected products with the specified lot codes and have not yet consumed it, you are advised not to eat the product. Please return the product to the store of purchase for a refund or replacement or dispose of the product. Please consult the following webpage to confirm how to identify the lot code and claim a refund or replacement in your market: https://us.tonyschocolonely.com/pages/recall-fo-intl-0325

emphasis mine.

please do not the rocks. thank you

eventually I'm going to write something better and more fleshed out than this but I fucking hate how 'ableism' gets watered down to the point that calling anything 'ableist' at all turns you into a caricature in the minds of people who never took ableism seriously in the first place. people already see accessibility as some kind of extravagant demand of the over-privileged and they always have. and the way they engage with discussions about disability are shaped by that. including the fact that (perhaps seemingly, perhaps actually) laughable accusations of ableism get more attention than they should. which reinforces the accusations of 'accessibility as a privilege' over and over again until 'disabled' is synonymous for 'whinger and bitcher and complainer'. do you know what I mean.

‼️SOLUTION TO UBLOCK ORIGIN YOUTUBE BAN‼️

Hey friendssssss!! Recently Ublock origin stopped working on firefox youtube and I have been trying to find a solution because FUCK YOU AND YOUR ADS BOOOO

SO, this is what managed to get around the youtube block for now:

  • turn off "quickfixes" (go to ublock settings, click 'filter lists' and go to 'built in'. There should be a list of 5 filters, click the arrow to expand the list if it's not showing up)
  • add "chrome mask" as an extension to your browser (this makes firefox look like chrome to websites that have blocked firefox (or as far as I understand it anyway lol))
  • refresh youtube (if it doesn't work the chrome mask extension might be turned off, just click on the extension icon and turn it on)

HOPE THAT HELPS NOW GO WATCH A 3 HOUR VIDEO ESSAY!!!

"Anything is fine as long as it's legal" is not the sex positive position you think it is. Anything can be criminalised. Anything can be decriminalised.

In some places it's illegal to consensually choke your boyfriend. In other places marital rape is not a crime. Develop a moral compass instead of expecting your government to tell you what is right and wrong.

There is currently some misinformation about Firefox being spread around.

Firefox is NOT selling user data.

The legalese in the ToS is easy to misinterpret, but Firefox remains the most privacy-focused modern browser in the world.

I was sitting out back and I heard a bird sing a tune that sounded kind of like a few notes of Pink Pony Club and I envisioned training a bunch of wild birds to sing for food, and I posted a video on tiktok and it went viral and suddenly people were training birds to sing worldwide and then other birds realized they could get attention/food from humans by mimicking this behavior and then there were big roaming flocks of songbird choruses, and then record companies started trying to copyright strike -birds- and it was so unpopular that media corporations started running absurd anti-bird campaigns trying to manufacture consent for exterminating all birds and it got wild traction with conservatives to the point where they were killing birds in the streets and like gloating about their bird kill counts and then every day there were stories like “all flamingoes are gone” and john oliver was like ummm guys flamingoes don’t even sing but eventually all birds were gone and there was weird discourse like some people would argue that platypuses count as birds because of their beaks and there was a really popular influencer who like posted videos about baking with reptile eggs and life on earth go so profoundly fucked without birds that whole food chains started to collapse until all basically all life withered away and I was sitting out back of my house (somehow, I was still here where I heard that first bird) and it was so, so quiet

do you hate AI as much as I do? would you fistfight grok?? are you also a fan of lil baby chickens? then boy howdy to i have some stickers for you!!

these lil guys are here to join you in the good fight, you can buy 'em at my ko-fi, the link is here!

[ID copied from alt text: Two stickers, both featuring chicks with text. One reads "here to fight grok" and the other "all my peeps hate AI." End ID.]

my favorite thing when a character pettily hates some type of object or animal and is thereby commonly associated with it ie. One guy who always gets mauled by crabs for some reason whenever he goes to the beach and so holds a grudge against them such that when merchandise comes out, for the rest of the cast it’s like Her figure comes with a small attachable golden scarab, her signature item and the key that led her on her quest! Or He comes with a bunny, as he mentioned he finds them very cute :) and then for the one guy it’s like he comes with a crab

i think people don't know how to differentiate between hard access issues and soft access issues, or don't want to. a lot of access issues aren't clearly one or the other but having no ramps is a hard access issue for obligate wheelchair users. you've gotta stop comparing every accessibility issue to ramps.

because when you compare a soft access issue (an issue which makes accessing somewhere or something painful, difficult, insulting, frustrating, etc) with a hard access issue (an issue which makes accessing somewhere or something impossible) then you inadvertently imply that the persons who experience those hard access issues don't also experience soft access issues.

like say you have a disabled student in a wheelchair. education is famously inaccessible, so everyone says "not providing this is like not providing a ramp." but it's not, firstly because they don't even provide ramps much of the time. like they straight up aren't doing that and you're acting like it's this horrible impossibility that we should understand is super bad so you can compare your own thing to it. which is just incorrect when they're not doing it.

but let's say there's a ramp. so there's a ramp but it's a 5 minute detour to get to so the wheelchair user is always late. the desks are too high to see past, the lecture hall has automated doors but no dedicated wheelchair space so they have to sit off side. can they see properly? does someone catch them up with the missed introduction? where will they take notes?

and the accessible route can be even longer than a 5 minute detour. the route might be round back, next to all the trash/rubbish. that's not dignified but it's also not sanitary either, which is dangerous to disabled people. is it round back where everyone smokes? i sure hope that wheelchair user has no respiratory issues. are they getting penalised for being late all the time? will that affect their attendance? what if they're an international student on a visa and need high attendance to stay in the country? there's a million soft access issues that are present even if the bare minimum of basic access (can i get inside) is met. but yeah there's a ramp. so whatever i guess
