a little rant about eve

so i have seen almost everyone hating eve, and honestly, i hate her too, at least i used to until i re-read the series. this may hurt some people, but please read before you comment.

we forget that eve was and is neglected. first by her parents, then by blake, and toby too. yes, what eve has done in tfg, tbh, and tgg is beyond explanation. but have we considered her reasons? no.

she was neglected, lonely, and just needed someone to understand her and listen to her. gray became that someone, but after the events of tfg, we all know what happened.

in tbh, she said to gray about how she needed a friend. and only slate is the person who was loyal to her. toby never saw a daughter in her. avery was his daughter.

what i want to say is, eve is a well written character, with so many reasons to hate the hawthornes and avery. i'm no saying her actions are justified. no, definitely not. but what i am saying is, that let's not hate her just because she looks like emily or how she just needs some love and comfort, but not like her for what she did to gigi and savannah, and grayson.

how her need for love and comfort turned into something sinister.

EXACTLYYY- she might be one of the best written characters in the entire series. You can hate on em*ly however much as you want, because we know of no solid reason that b#tch did the things she did apart from greed. but eve isnt like that. she had solid trauma, and deals with neglect and loneliness all the time. it is natural for such a person to turn sore, and although this doesnt justify anything shes done, atleast she has a solid backstroy and REASONS behind her actions unlike some people.

I just read your post and I'd like to comment on how both Libby and Nash deserved people who were there for them and I completely agree . They're made for eachother , we talk a lot on how Nash is there for Libby that I'd like to talk about how much it must've meant for Nash when Libby was there for him after he met his dad . It also encouraged him to open up to her and Libby's reaction to that didn't disappoint and that's why both Libby and Nash acknowledge that Cartago was a significant time in their relationship

YEPP- When l say lost pieces of a puzzle, l mean Libbynash, cuz they both compliment eachother in the best way possible.

From a young age, Nash had been the odd one among the brothers-where they were competitive and filled with adrenaline, Nash was calm and didnt care for competition. He was always different-pursuing a solitary life away from all comforts, when he could easily have lived like a prince in the Hawthorne house. Similarly, being the goth cupcake maker she was, Libby was also different, and she never tried to hide it (before Alisa at least) which prob explains why Nash had been attracted to her from the beginning. The connection had always been there. Then there wa the matter of their siblings. Both of them grew up in lowkey toxic and abusive households. While, Nash had been forced to leave his brothers behind, Libby stayed for her sister through and through. l strongly feel that this was one of the things that made Nash fall even more for Libby. She did what he couldn't. Also, they both take care of those around them, but hide their own problems. Which again makes them perfect, because THEY TAKE CARE OF EACHOTHER. From Nash getting ready to show Dr*ke hell, to Libby finally making him feel like he deserves love, THEY WERE THERE FOR EACHOTHER FROM THE BEGINNING.

Honestly, they make such an interesting dynamic, and although i looved 'The Cowboy and the Goth', it wasn't enough. l feel like Jenn mostly focused on 'The Night in Prague' and 'The Same Backward as Forward' and left us hanging for libbynash and maxander- OMG DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON MAXANDER. We barely got a chapter??? No hate to Jenn, her book, her choice- but as an avid tig fan, l would've loved 'Games Untold' wayyyyyy more if she had given us more libbynash and xander povs. But thats just me ig..
