Emily, 32, She/her, white cis woman. Bisexual communist. I have anxiety and post about it sometimes. No minors please. Terfs/swerfs get out

answering a couple questions i got on this post since i realized ppl genuinely wanna know:

tl;dr:

  1. israel lets very, very little aid get into gaza. even the UN can't get in as much as they want to. funding individual families, gazan led initiatives, and mutual aid collectives operating out of gaza ensures gazans can provide for themselves and pay for the extremely expensive aid that is available.
  2. with all the civil infrastructure destroyed by israel, the situation on the ground has devolved into unrestricted capitalism, driving up the price of aid (that should be free!). this makes it more urgent for people to have funding for daily survival.

the post linked above has examples of how donating to individual families can help a lot. if you want to help more than one family at a time, there are many gazan-led initiatives focusing on rebuilding their infrastructure and distributing aid fairly that are worth donating to instead of large charities that already get the majority of donations.

as i mentioned in the last post: @/careforgaza on twitter is a nonprofit started by gazans, it's been endorsed by multiple palestinian journalists.

the sameer project is a collective organized by diaspora palestinians offering emergency shelter to gazans.

ele elna elak is a project aiming to bring water, food, shelter, etc. to gazans and has been promoted by bisan owda.

all of these organizations are active inside gaza right now and are being run by gazans. if anyone knows of other gazan-led mutual aid projects, nonprofits or charities feel free to link them in the notes! hope this helped!

long answers under the cut!

plugging gaza soup kitchen for those with the means to donate! it's another gazan-led initiative currently providing food, water, classes for children, and medical care across the north and south. you can donate through their website or their gofundme, or follow them on instagram for news about their projects

please also consider taking a look at dahnoun mutual aid (instagram link), another ghazzawi-run initiative doing great work using very little funds! they're currently distributing winter clothes for young children, as well as food and water, infant formula, tents, and cash. they've also got a chuffed

Today, the Israeli occupation committed a massacre against children. More than 50 children were martyred in the bombing of a nursing home, where the bodies of children were removed without heads. I saw one of the bodies without a head. I can't stand all of this. More than 50,000 people were killed in the Gaza war, and the number is constantly increasing. Please, I don't want to be among the dead. Please help me and my family get out of the war zone. Please!!!😭

The night the ceasefire collapsed, Hossam’s family lost everything again.

Images: The morning after the ceasefire collapsed, Hossam contacted us to confirm his family was safe, and show us the extent of the damage to his family's tent.
Video: To further validate his story, Hossam sent us the link to an Al-Jazeera news report (LINK) in which he briefly appears around the 0:48 mark.

Story by @rumiandroses

On the night of March 17-18, 2025, as airstrikes rained down across Gaza, the Al-Quzzaz family’s tent was destroyed. Miraculously, Hossam, his wife Hanan, and their four children (Bashar, 9; Hani, 8; Diana, 4; and Habiba, 6 months) all survived unharmed, but many in their displacement camp did notβ€”many men, women and children, innocent lives who had already endured so much, were lost to the violence.

Amid the chaos, the Al-Qazzaz family has clung to their faith and done their best to keep their spirits high. They've sought safety where they can, staying with relatives and mentally preparing themselves for the days ahead as war returns to Gaza. Every day is filled with fear and uncertaintyβ€”Just last week, Hanan, went to a local hospital, only for the hospital to be bombed just hours after she left it.

In the aftermath of the airstrikes, Hossam and our founder, Bethany-Grace, discussed sending some of the funds raised so far from the Chuffed campaign she is sponsoring for the Al-Quzzaz family, so that the family could rebuild their shelter. On March 28, we were able to send Hossam $788 (€697.48 after conversion) raised by the Chuffed campaignβ€”enough to start constructing a sturdier, more protective shelter for the family. While this might seem like a significant sum, the blockade of goods into Gaza has caused prices for basic items like food, medicine, and building materials to skyrocket.

Today, because of your kindness, compassion, and generosity, Hossam was able to purchase sturdy building materials and has begun to rebuild the family's tent.

As a direct result of your help, the Al-Quzzaz family will have shelter again. They will be protected from the elements and shielded as much as possible from the dangers that surround them every second of every day.

But the Al-Quzzaz family's journey is far from over. We are still raising funds to help Hossam’s family escape to safety and rebuild their lives.

If you can, please donate. If you cannot, please shareβ€”amplifying this family's story plays an important role in helping the family find people who can financially assist.

Your generosity has already helped this family take their first steps toward recovery. Let’s help them move forward.

The Al-Quzzaz family also has their original GoFundMe campaign. Without any stable source of income available, the GoFundMe campaign is used to buy basic necessities like food, clothes, and medical supplies.

🚨 Urgent Appeal: Save My Family’s Life Before It’s Too Late 🚨

The war is growing more brutal by the day, The planes are raining down shells, burning, killing without mercy. Today, the Israeli army ordered us to evacuate our area immediately amid heavy bombing. Since this morning until now, they have killed 70 people, and my family and I barely survived. πŸ’”

Most families have been displaced, but we do not have the money to escape to safer areas. The cost of transportation and displacement is extremely high, while what little we manage to gather is barely enough to keep us from starving amidst the siege, border closures, and insane price hikes. πŸ˜“

Time is running out, and danger surrounds us from all sides. We need to urgently gather the cost of evacuation and transportation to save our lives.

Please, do not leave us alone in this hell.

Your donation now means saving our lives and giving us a chance to live. πŸ₯ΉπŸ«‚

Vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #152 ) βœ…

Eid in Gaza is killing, death, hunger, displacement, and displacement. How can we be displaced? The taxi fare that will carry you and your children and some simple items is $500. How can we cover the cost of displacement? And for the sake of displacement, you want a large transport vehicle that exceeds the amount. We live in great helplessness, oppression, weakness, and humiliation. Death has become a mercy for us. There is no safe place to settle in, and if we find something that is a room and a bathroom in poor condition, its cost exceeds The $500 a month is how we will continue our lives of food, medicine, water, and all the necessitiesπŸ™πŸ‰

You know, my friends, that we live on your donations. If you donate, we eat for us, our family, and our children. If your donations stop, unfortunately, our lives stop. You are the hand of help, the hand of mercy, and the hand of hope for us. Please, intensify your participation, intensify your prayers, and intensify your donations. I know that we have become a burden on you, but you are the hope and the lifeline. Please, please, help me. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ˜’

Please help me feed my family. We go to bed hungry under conditions of war, famine and genocide. Please, I want to feed my younger brothers first and buy medicine so that my foot will not be amputated, and after that I will have operations so that I can walk on my feet. Please, I beg you, help me with your donations, even if it is $5, as it helps us and gives us. Happiness and hopeπŸ«‚πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ‰
