aka rival firefighters 🚒 | buddie | chapter 10/10 | Explicit

When Eddie gets home he heads straight inside. Buck follows a minute later, the door shutting with a click that sounds too loud in the silence surrounding them. Eddie rakes his eyes up Buck’s body, hungryily drinking him in. He can’t wait to get his hands and mouth on every inch of him.

“Okay so I know we talked about this - us - at dinner but afterwards we kind of got a little bit distracted with the kissing and —”

Eddie pushes Buck against the door and crashes his lips into Buck’s, effectively cutting off his sentence. He licks into Buck’s mouth and relishes in the moan that reverberates through Buck’s chest.

“Do you know how long I’ve wanted to shut you up like that?” Eddie breathes into the scant space between their mouths after he breaks their kiss.

“I’m guessing probably since the day you met me.” Buck grins, a cheeky and beautiful thing that Eddie absolutely has to taste. He swoops in and captures Buck mouth again, enjoying the feeling of Buck practically melting in his arms.

“Yeah,” Eddie pants after he’s pulled away, “pretty much.”

“Mmm I bet there were other ways you imagined shutting me up” Buck says around a smirk before he’s devouring Eddie’s mouth in a kiss that has Eddie’s toes curling.

Eddie is so thoroughly distracted by the taste of Buck, by the way he is taking him apart with just his lips and tongue that he doesn’t notice Buck’s muscles tensing in preparation.

One minute they’re kissing, and then the next, photo frames are rattling as Eddie is pinned to the wall, Buck’s body caging him in as his lips seek purchase against Eddie’s neck. Eddie lets out a moan as Buck kisses and nips and sucks his way up to Eddie’s mouth, capturing Eddie’s lips in a kiss that has him seeing stars.

And then all too soon Buck is pulling away and Eddie has a complaint on the tip of his tongue but clamps down and swallows it as Buck drops to his knees.

Fuck.

WIP Wednesday 🚧

oooh I have something to share, started working on it after the spoilers from the week 😅 I technically don't reveal anything here but if you're avoiding like the plague maybe skip!

"I didn't even think you'd seen Tommy until—"
His words got stuck in his throat, they still didn't seem real. Until the funeral.
Buck swallowed, taking a few steps towards the wall and leaning against it.
"Did I forget to mention that... we slept together?" he closed one eye and looked back at Eddie like he was waiting for the lecture.
While usually Eddie would have had one ready to go, he paused for a moment as he pondered whether it was the right time.
"You did forget to mention it," he said instead.
"It just didn't seem important, not with everything you were dealing with at the same time," he said.
"You know friendship works two ways, right?" he asked with a gentle smile and a tilt of his head. "Just because I'm going through a rough patch doesn't mean I don't want to hear about your life and what's going on with you. I mean, if it did, we might never talk about you."
Buck let out an echo of a laugh, and even that after the week they'd had sounded warm in his ears.
"Yeah I know," he said.
"That's... not the only reason you didn't tell me though, is it?"
He looked back and chewed on his bottom lip a moment, contemplating his reply.
"He... may have implied that he had a better chance of making it work with me... now that you're not here," he said slowly, and Eddie just blinked back at him as he let the words register.
"He implied that?"

buck sealed his fate the minute he gave up on fighting eddie, and instead decided to do anything he can to support him. yes, buck has let people go before. but not like this. not when he's convinced they're not coming back. not when they're his whole world. not when he has to convince them to stay away because it's the right thing to do. that selflessness is what sets his relationship with eddie apart from every other love interest. and yes, it's also because chris comes first, of course. but it's primarily because buck loves eddie so much that he's willing to let him go for good if that's what eddie needs from him. he's willing to lose the most important person in his life, basically help destroy his whole own world, because that's what eddie needs from him. buck's convinced that eddie's not coming back. and he's going to miss him forever if that's what it takes. he's going to spend sleepless nights in eddie's home, he's going to hang out with him on facetime and steal glimpses of the life he wish he could be a part of. and he doesn't even realize that he is. he doesn't even fucking know how much eddie misses him back. he doesn't even know that eddie wishes he was next to him too, not just because he needs buck but also because he wants him. yes, buck knows that eddie loves him. but he doesn't know that eddie's love for him is just as desperate as buck's because it's never happened to him before. he doesn't know it's even possible. buck doesn't even know that!!! and he's still willing to live like that forever. he's willing to wait for an ending he's not expecting to come, ever. because that's how much he loves eddie. nobody was and ever will be able to compete with that.

nobody tagged me, but i'm really trying to get this finished before the episode airs, so: phone sex fic. normal questions to ask your bestie that you're definitely not in love with, and normal reactions to same.

"I know I should just get a couple of window units. I just keep forgetting when I actually have time." That, and he's not sure the expense is worth it, when it's just him here. Maybe when Chris moves in, if he moves in. Eddie doesn't want to risk fracturing their fragile armistice to ask, at least not yet. But he can imagine the face Buck will make if he says any of that, so he doesn't. "I kinda feel bad about hogging your AC now," Buck remarks, as Eddie heads back toward the bedroom with his beer bottle. "You're the one paying the utilities now." "Mm. True. And you're stuck sleeping in those tighty whities because you don't have AC." Eddie sputters on a sip of beer. "Okay that's not—" "Uh huh." "I'm not wearing tighty whities." "Right," Buck says indulgently. "We shared a locker room for seven years, you know I don't." "All right, fine, what—what are you wearing then?" Buck asks, laughing. And Eddie—pauses. Goes still, beside his bed, in the dark bedroom that still doesn't feel like his. Through the open windows, he can hear the low drone of insects. The glass bottle is sweating condensation against his palm, and his skin feels damp and hot.  His pulse thumps in his ears. He sits on the edge of the bed. "Eddie?" Buck says, and he can hear it in his tone, the anxious apology, the imminent backward scramble.

New theory:

Whatever the bio attack is, it somehow makes Bobby appear dead, when he actually isn’t.

They have a big funeral and Bobby gets burried but then later wakes up in his coffin. For some reason he was burried with his phone, and is able to call 911.

We get the angst, but with a happy ending where Bobby is 100% not dead and everything is okay 🙂

Thinking about all the posts that talk about how Buck, through Eddie’s eyes, is mature and grounded and is reliable and honest, and thinking about Buck in every one of his previous romantic relationships and how he was, well none of those things. And how it’s because Buck doesn’t have to be anything but himself with Eddie. He doesn’t have to worry about the things he says and he doesn’t have to worry about losing Eddie. He doesn’t have to try and be someone he isn’t. The Buck who Eddie sees is Buck. He’s Buck at his most honest self. All because Eddie saw it already, saw it before Buck could prove it true, and Eddie decided to trust him, trusted him after half a shift of Buck hating him no less, and so Buck can trust himself, and be himself. With Eddie.
